Okay...this post is a few days old so it probably wont benefit the actual person who posted this...but for future lightsaber crafters this might help.
1. Always use a +15 Lightbacer crafting tool
2. Always find a Weapons crafting station that is at least 20+ (but 45+ preffered)
3. Craft while near the crafting station, and make sure you are wearing any clothing that will give you Jedi Experimentation Bonus' (if you have them)
Now for the resources:
The resources for lower level sabers are going to accept are wider range of resources than the higher level ones (3rd and 4th generation lightsabers are going to require more rare resources - not impossible to find, just harder, especially ones with good values)
What your looking for when you start your crafting session is the bottom left corner that will display the precentages %.
For a 2nd Generation lightsaber...it is 33% Conductivity and 66% Overall Quality
So the Overall Quality of your resource is what your looking for first, since it is a higher percentage.
4. You should find a resource that is at least 950 or better (higher the better) in overall quality. Your resource should also be 950 or better in Conductivity. Again the higher the better. The key is finding the right resource that has both. All of your resources should be collected with this in mind...Your Metal, Chem and Gas.
5. The best metal you can find is usually going to be Copper, so keep that in mind. They usually have the higher values in these areas.
*Hint* There are player vendors out there that specialize in carrying server capped resources, although expensive it may be worth your time to search them out. They are all the resources needed.. usually in wearable containers. You may need a couple of these, in case you if have a bad crafting session.
After you load your resources and craft the item...you have the opportunity to experiment.
6. Always experiment! (This is why you need to be by a good crafting station)You may be able to experiment 2 or 3 points at a time with no problems. Experiment until you run out of points. You should get a message after each attempt of "how good of a success" the experiment was.
You should have Great or Amazing Success' on each attempt. If you have even one point that did not resolt in this you should scrap the saber and start over.
Thats about all you need to know...if you have done all that I said.. you should have a top of line base saber...the crystals you add to it after you craft it will add to the stats.
