The battle system is clunky. I personally don't like having to use the mouse and keyboard at the same time. Let me do everything with one or the other. (Currently, you move with WASD and attack with the mouse click.)
Technically, you can use the ctrl key for swinging instead of your mouse, and alternatively, use the arrow keys instead of WASD.

The game is full of kill stealing. You can be in the middle of no where attacking a guard, and suddenly there are 2 people spamming the attack button right next to you, cutting your "Notority" (EXP) earned in half. This is more than likely due to the number of little kids playing not knowing any better, but it'd be nice if the game designers would implement a "claim" system or something. I think even Toontown has a claim system.
I haven't noticed any difference in notoriety gain when others contribute vs. not. Rate seems the same regardless if others start "helping" or not.
Toontown doesn't really have a claim system, but only up to 4 can battle at once - though I do find the need to swat players over the head for using backwards tactics, trying to battle the higher levels first, and lower last - when everyone gets greater experience if lower levels are killed first and higher levels stay unharmed until the end.
I would agree that it's somewhat obnoxious about the level of players in a zone causing lag, but hadn't experienced the pain of clashing from miles away issue. They seem to be fairly balanced to me. I wonder if its a difference in hardware usage, or just me not noticing. If it's the latter of the two, I'll likely start noticing and will have you to thank for pointing out something that will now likely annoy me :P
I find many strengths in this game, but my biggest "beef" would be a lack of group UI representation for health meters. I don't want changed colors if you have someone as a "member of my crew" or anything like that, just further indication besides the "friends" window which displays health meters so we all know why "Joey O'Conner" is running away, and assist in getting the bad guys off his back.
