Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is an easier way of placing items in your house for example on walls, instead of using the radial menu, move up and repeating like a 1000 times!!!

Can you pick where on a wall you want to place something and just put it there, or select an item you have dropped and click and drag or something?

Thanks

you can create a macros

I.E.

/MoveFurniture up/down/forward/back 1-?<---not sure what the cap is

or

/rotateFurniture right/left 1-360 degrees

you add them to your quick bar on one of the levels you aren't using.

create a couple for fine tuning

the cap is 500 if i rember corectly. and with the new chapter you will get new ways to move stuff like putting a rug on the wall for a example. it's a new collection that will be availble and it's looks to be very easy to get.

yea the cap is 500. i usually use /move forward 200 /move backward 200 etc..(right amount) commands to place my items...number can be anywhere from 1 to 500.... when placing items on a wall just continually lower ur number till you get all the way to one...if you move too far it will give you Ivalid Location prompt. It takes a bit of practice but you can learn to move things pretty quick.

Sorry guys, thanks for the help but need a bit more,

I have never done a macro so no sure how to do it, tried and all I got was no such command after I had done one.

Can you tell me the exact macro to type and how to activate it, do I click on the item in my house, in backpack etc.

Thanks alot!

The info that we gave is a commmand that you type into the chatbox

for example

you have to drop what you want(painting, chair, holo and so on) near where you want it

target the piece of furniture

then type.../moveFurniture back 5...to move it closer to the wall....when you can't move back anymore it tell you invalid location

you can substitute back with up,down, and forward

To create a macro....

You have to go into the "Command" menu...it's in the Game menu you get from pressing "ESC"

once in the command menu....click on "Macro" tab, Then click on "New Macro"

name the macro.....something like "movefurnitureback5" can't have any spaces in the name

type in /moveFurniture back 5...chose an icon

There you go....you would have made your first macro

you can also rotate the furniture on the y axis(left/right) but not the x axis(forward/back)

for example

/rotateFurniture right 45......this will turn the furniture 45 degress right, again you can substitute right for left.

again you can create a macro so you dont have to type it all the time, also as you are decorating you find that you still will have to type in fine tuning commands "/moveFurniture forward 1" and so on.....you can recall previous commands that you have typed in the chatbox by press the "/" key then pressing you up or down directional keys....it will scroll through what you have typed in, to include any chatting you have been doing.

Hope this helps and it's not very confusing...let us know and we will Holla back

what they really need to do, is update the house item system to that of EQ2s.

its so easy to place things in EQ2 compared to SWG

the item pretty much sits on your mouse, and you move your mouse around and it has a little hologram type thing of the item, and you just place it where you want.

only disadvantage to thats is you cant do things like place stuff in mid air

moving things around the house is a lot easier in eq2, but there is also far far less variety. you dont need a macro to move items, easiest way i found was just to type the move commands in by hand.

/move up 200 etc. or /move forward 45

i found that if i dropped a picture as close to the wall as possible, then did a /move forward 45 then that would pretty much place it flat against the surface. if it sinks into the wall too much;
/move back 5 etc.

just remember have to be targetting the item to be moved.

the move forward and back command is in relation to the facing of your avatar.

some of the 'showhomes' i've seen have been nothing less than spectacular, some people i know have literally spent days decorating their homes, and building 'features' out of factory crates etc.
