You should get XP after 50Follow

The problem with this game and the level 50s are complaining about a lot, is that you get no XP anymore after 50. This is completly wrong. You should get XP and you should be able to get new stuff after you get a certain amount of XP. So here is what i am suggesting, every 100,000 XP or something you get 1 point and you can use this point to increase one of your stats. Or there could be an extra trait system where you are able to pick some traits after a certain amount of XP. There are many ways to do this. So what do you think?

As weird as this sounds (and may get me flamed), I think Turbine should take a note from FF. In FF you get special abilities and/or traits to enhance after you hit level 75. It takes for friggin' ever to max out some of the abilities (I was working on white mage abilities for well over a year) but it's 10k XP for one point of the ability. So level 1 of the ability is 10k xp, level 2 is 20k XP, level 3 is 30k XP and so on. They'd have to adapt the system to LotRO but it'd give people something to work towards after hitting level 50.

I've maxed out 4 tradeskills; jewlrey, tailoring, weaponsmith, and metalworker I don't count prospecting and forestry as they level to grandmaster easily from gathering the components to level the other tradeskills.

I've leveled 3 toons to 50 working on a 4th he's 36 with all his ledgendary books and the first book pages in the bank.

Maxed reputation in two zones and very dissapointed in the rewards.

Right now I'm having a hard time logging in to play.

I'm kinda glad I didn't pay lifetime membership fees. Lowering the fee to play the game leads me to believe there are quite a few people not playing as often as they were in the past.

It is a very fun game and I've had a good time playing it but there seems to be a ton of grinding.

Grinding for special components to make master level weapons, equipment, or potions gets boring the 4th time around.

Turing in Orc battle medalians to get past 2nd tier requires a person to turn in 1000 tokens just to be able to turn in campaign tokens(still not able to recieve any rewards just the ability to turn in the next level token. If your lucky and know which mob to kill you'd have to kill at least 1500 mobs killing a creature with 5k hp. Sure they sprinkle in a few mobs with 1200 hp that have a chance to drop the token however the argo from the other mobs in the area make it very hard for someone in there high 30's to solo. Fighting in a group and trying to collect 1000 battle tokens could take a lifetime as your drop rate would diminish because of each member of the group getting his or her share.

Grinding deeds requiring 200+ kills can get repetitive to say the least. Level 50 toon blasting away on level 10 creatures takes the fun out of the kill on about the second kill.

In other games xp after 50 is called many things.

EQ/EQ2: AA points (Alternate Advancement). Though this is now not limited to post 50.
DAoC: Champion Level XP

.... You get the idea.

ALL of these came a good 3-4 years into development.

I doubt Turbine is going to do anything "post-50" until at least their 3rd expansion!

=(

Which is a shame because it is a problem know, i don't know why turbine can't look at other companies and see what they are doing right with the xp after 50.

Yes it is lots of grinding, I'm looking at the elves of rivendell reputation and you have to go into goblin city numerous times which is a pain in the *** because you need a group to go in there. All the rep items should be soloble. If we had XP after 50 there might be something to draw you into doing random quests still. You do random quests when you go up to 50 but you stop when you are at 50 because the quests don't give you the items that you want.

Your right there probably but i wish turbine would act fast on this, otherwise they might lose some people.

I'm glad this came up. I have one alt at 50, another at 45, and the rest at about 30 - 35. I've pretty much stopped playing. I see no reason to keep going with my low lvl alts. I'm stuck with my lvl 50 at Book 7 Chap 8, and can't get anyone to group with. I'm dead in the water right now. I don't like gangbangin in the Rift or Helegrod. I don't really have anything to do now. I can get deeds and traits, but that's getting old. Crafting isn't much fun right now either.

Does anyone have any idea when they might raise the level cap? I'm finding more and more people in and out of kinships that have run out of things to do. Many have started alts just for something to do, but would rather keep playing their main characters. People are getting bored.

Its almost impossible to raise the cap if you look at the perspective of PvMP.

Raise the player caps, you'd have to raise Monster Player Cap. Standard players have many places they can go and increase thier levels that ALREADY exist within the game. But where do the Monsters get to go? They have to make a completely new zone for them to get thier levels in, because it would be next to impossible for them to level in the Ettenmoors. It's not like you can just raise one side and not the other, because then there will be even more serious imbalance issues.

Bottom Line: You cant make everyone happy.

its easily done with the monsters, raise the level cap and so you have a second PVMP zone where you can have monsters that are whatever the level cap, and keep the old zone to 50 monsters and players. Also raising the level cap means that they have to put more tiers of the crafting system. Raising the level cap is only getting away from the issue though, when your at the new level cap your going to find the same thing you are now just at a higher level. So they need to change the root of the problem and not just hide from the real issue.

OK, yeah, i 50'd and its gettin boring, moreover, i have a good craft, sell a lot of armour, and have nothing to spend the money on. I can work on rep and deeds, but mn killin 240 4k whatevers is a LOT of work for +3 fate and -1% shadow mitigation or whatever.

Started goin to the rift, but it requires such a solid game plan to succeed that you cant just hook up and run it, so u need to organize a team and that is very hard to do.

What would i like, if i max out a virtue, like fortitude, a trinket that gives me something SUBSTANTIAL, to make it worth doin.

Since they pulled all the shard droppers crafting sucks, wont pay 1.5 gold for a beryl shard. PUT THEM BACK! It is a great reward to get a shard, we LIKE IT! And it will put an end to the nonsense at hrithurs haven.

Class armour that is BETTER than crafted, i have all etched and mirrored everything, war-cap gives some skills but LOWER overall stats, and it is impossible to get a drop, or 100 gold at the AH, Been to the rift 6 times, never gotten anything let alone a gem to get the cool armour. Give us crafted class armour. Each class can make it it they are mateal smith. so the same with weapons and jewelerly.

A virtue called DUTY, powerful one, i help a lot of lower level groups with my 50 cap, just a nice guy, reward me for it, helps everyone in the long run and encourages fellowing.

I love the game, but trhe experience has turned into battling farmers for shards, raiding with hodge podge last min groups and losing and GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIInding out deeds for little bumps in stats.

My goals, rift armour, the black horse, and maxiing my stats, first two are sooo far off, i wonder if i will hang around to see them. Once ya hit 50, not a lot left to do.

How about this...

Try not (and I realize this is impossible for many people to do nowadays), to play the game 24 hours a day and just have some fun exploring things as they come, instead of GOTTA GET TO 50...huff huff...GOTTA BE UBER...huff huff...GOTTA MAX OUT MY CHARACTER ON THE NEW GAME...huff huff...AND BE THE FIRST ONE TO DO THINGS AND SAY I'M ELITE...huff huff

MMOs such as this should be enjoyed, but they should not be made into your entire life. I mean heck,

Walk your dog
Do your dishes
Go hang out with the friends you used to have

or better yet (as unlikely as this one is)

Get yourself a girlfriend

and in the unlikely event any of these suggestions take place, you'll enjoy your time in Middle-earth more when you get there cuz you'll know what you'll have waiting for you in real life once you get done playing.

Where did it say he plays 24/7? You are missing the point. The game truly sucks at level 50. There is nothing to do. I got to level 50 and after a few days cancelled my subs and deleted the account. Was fun for a while but hey its a licenced game I never expected it to bring more than a few weeks fun.
The eye candy was nice. Now I go back to toon town wow.

A good kin would help. I enjoy every time I play, wether its rifting, helping out with lower lvl folk, PVMP...whatever. Sure it sux if the only thing you enjoy is levelling, but theres more to online gaming than 'progression'.
