My best friend and myself tried the trial for LOTR shot four months ago; give or take. She loved it.

We ended up not continuing from the trial because we needed a break from MMOs. In fact I just quit FFXI for good two days ago.

Anyway, my main question is:

When I played I would sometimes freeze on the spot. I could see others move around me but I couldn't. I also couldnt log out from the menu. I assume that it was server side and not my PC. Is this issue fixed?

How is lag when just doing normal things, like quests etc.?

I think that's all for now.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I still get the but it is very infrequent. It used to be a bit of an issue from my side but now it only seems to happen when it is prime time but the odd thing is I don't get it in crowded areas, it happens when I am out in the middle of nowhere with noone around me. Like I said though, it is fairly rare to happen to me anymore.

There's a setting in your options where you can turn down the graphic quality in crowded areas. Try that.

I don't know if they fixed something, or if the crowds have just gotten thinner but I'm very rarely having this freeze problem anymore.

It does sound like some CPU or graphics limitations on your side, though there are also others who know the situation you are describing, so it may be server-side. However, we won’t know for sure without knowing your setup. Please post your PC specs.

I sort of just realized that my PC is coming up to about 4 years old now. lol

OS: Windows XP Professional (service pack 2)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX 9.0
Video Card: Radeon 9800 PRO (128.0MB)

Although, glad to hear that it seems like this problem is less than it used to be based on the first two replies.
