Hello to all. Downloaded the trial about 4 days ago and purchased the game the 2 days after that. Have some experience with WoW but could never get into it. I don't play as often as some since I have a wife and children which makes it hard to find a lot of time to play. Its nice to have a game that I can play for an hour an feel like I've gotten alot done. I solo mostly ( i'm on late at night ) so its great that lotro has so much to offer to solo players. I'm currently on brandywine and interested in joining a casual guild ( I'm sorry I can't remember what its called in lotro. ) I only have a lvl 5 Human Guardian so it would be no problem to switch servers as well. Thank you and hope to see you all in Middle-Earth :-)

I too am married with children. I have tried EQ2 and WoW, and LOTRO seems much more doable for the part-timers like you and me. Guilds=Kinships. I have a 16 lvl hunter and have yet to join a kinship. I would suggest soloing, and sometimes posting LFF's (looking for fellowship) on the OCC channel when a quest is too hard until you start questing in the books. You may have to repost the message a few times before you get a response, but people in this game seem ready to help. I think that's the best thing about this game; without PvP, players have a more friendly frame of mind and you aren't mercilessly destroyed right when your starting to get into a rythm.

The "unofficial" Alla kinship is There is No Fifth Star, and we're on Meneldor. We're very casual, and you'd be welcome with us. My time in game is limited for the same reason your is.

I've always wondered why you guys call it the "unoffical" Alla guild, when Alla himself is a member.. kinda makes it offical, does it not?
#5 Feb 06 2008 at 1:36 PM Rating: Good
Alla himself may be a member, but the website does not officially sanction any kinship. That is why it is technically un-official.

Plus TiNFS members get no extra perks on Allakhazam, and there is no requirement to post on or join Allakhazam.com or even know of its existance to join TiNFS.

I like to think we are happy being un-official as being official means more rulez.

Only rule we have is 'don't be a dink'.

Perhaps my evil ways have just been too subtle. I really cant prove it though until I get my pc running again. As I mentioned on the kin site, I am having problems getting a new power supply. I did just get off the phone with my tech friend (runs his own repair place), and next monday I'm taking the pc in to him and were going to see about putting it into another case like Kitca suggested.

Then, I'll be back online to prove that I can indeed be a dink.

Not even if i start calling you "OldBlueDragonBalls" ? Ok that probably was pretty lame. But hey, I've got a few weeks to come up with some better material. Yeah, I'm that bored.

Dy, you logging in from the Public Library or something (we thought your computer was broke)?

Actually 'dink' is a nice(r) way of saying *******. No, we don't really have anyone like that...joking aside.

Being a dink won't get you kicked out automatically but it will likely result in some serious peer pressure...

Ive been using moms computer to troll the forums and check my emails etc. Thats the beauty of having a router and two pc's in the house. I could use my psp to check messages but thats painfully slow, and texting messages is a pain in the ***.

At low levels all classes can solo fairly easily. Even at higher levels each class has the ability to solo, just might have to take more caution and learn 'tricks' so to speak. Joining a good kinship will definately make it alot smoother, you will find people who are simply bored and want to go hit stuff. Thats usually what I do.

Plug to my own kin on Arkenstone.
We're called Wayward Souls, and are a very casual kinship.
Most folks (excepting myself) at least TRY to act maturely, and most are adults with families.
Wecome to LoTR online btw. :)

Alla did try out the game and got his loremaster up to about level 20 (with his pet named Dotcom).

In one of our house-cleaning frenzies, Alla was, alas, booted from the kinship because he hadn't logged in ages (since Beta, I think). Sorry Alla, of course you're welcome back any time!

By the way, did anyone think to send a PM to Alla about this?
