Any requirement for your droids?Follow

#1 Feb 13 2008 at 11:31 AM Rating: Decent
I was visiting player owned vendors trying to find a droid deed and I found a vendor selling a lvl 60 droideka, but before I buy it I need to know:

1. If my droid runs out of health, what happens? Does it vanish forever or do you have to fix it using engineering skills?

2. Do droids engage in combat? I assume they do, but I'm not sure.

3. They use droid batteries right? Then how long till you wear out a battery?

Thanks in advance!

(Woops, I forgot to ask if you can have more than one droid out at once, but I'll assume that you can't)

1. if your droid runs out of health.. it dies.. as far as i know the next time you call it, its in good working order again.
2. only combat type droids will engage in combat..
3. they do use batteries. and they seem to last a pretty long time. although i havent had a combat droid run out of power yet, my entertainment droid has, but we're talking hours of use, so you should expect it to last for at least 4 hours.

on a side note, a level 60 droid can be defeated by a level 45 mob... i've set mine on various levels of creatures, and at 45.. he has a tendency to die a lot, their mostly for traders/entertainers who have no real combat skills of their own (a level 90 trader/entertainer can be considered a level 60 for most things)

at the moment im looking into the strengths of pets, beastmaster variety, as i have a feeling that combat wise, their probably stronger than droids are.

hell yes a well made pet is WAY stronger they work in pvp too and own pve.. I've both killed and been killed by BMs with my nonBM spy.

droids are for those who don't have it in them to grind BM, but theres been talk of someday adding another mastery called Droid Commander

Also to add there is a lvl requirement so u cant be i think 10 or 15 lvls less then the driod to use so make sure ur atleast lvl 55 or 60 before buying it and also driods can make good decorations for your house even though they are weak nd on the note of ents being like a lvl 60 a combat ent could own a lvl 90 person if the ent had a heal

even with a heal Entertainers are at a severe disadvantage in combat, comparing an Entertainer to a CL60 bh or jedi etc, i pretty generous, even with some pretty exotic buffs, the Entertainer is still at a disadvantage, i really dont understand why people think Entertainers should be good at combat, their not designed to be, and they arent intended to be, lets face it, it only takes 16 hours to level an entertainer from 5 - 90, and its highly likely the only changes to Entertainer in the future will be the addition of new songs/dances/musical instruments/props etc. which is pretty much as it should be.
