Possibility of new star wars mmorpg Follow

#1 Feb 15 2008 at 12:39 PM Rating: Decent
I have heard rummors that the game developer Bioware is working on a new Star Wars mmorpg and it could possibly replace Star Wars Galaxies. Has anyone else heard of such rumors? Thanks.

It remains just a rumour. While its been said that bioware are working on a Starwars title of some kind, there hasnt been any indication from the company itself that this is true, a lot of the rumours were started because they were hiring a lot of the devs that left SOE/SWG at the time the NGE was released. The rumours were undoubtedly started by unhappy players, with a great deal of wishful thinking.

I would hope it to be like SW Battlefront but with crafting, player cities, atmosphere flight, etc. This current format is so 1998.

i read somewhere that bio-ware gave it up, the roject has been given to someone else. it's gameplay was romured to be like knights of the republic.

i wish bio-ware was still working on it. there my home town edmonton alberta , never winter nights, and baulders gate games. seeing them work on an mmorpg would be great to see.

Last time I played the game, I was actually surprised how well the graphics hold up to today's standards. They need to update the character movement and maybe add some more environment to the various planets, but Jabba's palace still looks breathtaking and flying into Dantooine makes me smile with nostalgia.

Maybe add some more audio to the various NPCs. Like in the tutorial where Han Solo speaks to you instead of only using plain text. Granted, it's been half a year since the last time I played and I don't know what has happened in the meantime, but that's what I would've liked to see back then.

I heard they added a lock-on feature for combat so you no longer have to hold your mouse pointer over the one you wish to hit. Is this true? It was very annoying back then when I had to keep track of my mouse cursor in mid-combat or I'd be hitting air.

Guess I'm spoiled, coming from World of Warcraft where combat is so easy.

all you have to do is hit the Y key, which turns the cursor into a circle, and double click on the target, auto attack - auto fire basically.. all you have to do then is fire off any specials you want manually.. i use it all the time as the aiming thing, i just can't be bothered with.
