Gotta go with the classics...

not to mention, peaches can be eaten...and while flowers can also be eaten...they don't typically taste so good.

I've mind controlled Mario so many times into saving Peach, I voted for her.
She is an easy girl, you save her..you "win".

Peach is her first name, Toadstool is her surname.

Yes, her name is Peach Toadstool.

At first I didn't accept Peach either - and I would insist that her letter in Mario 64 meant she was making a "peach pie" for mario. Buttttt....Nintendo insists her name is Peach - so it's peach.

Okay, that makes more sense. I hadn't heard about that. I'm still calling her Toadstool, though. Smiley: tongue

I never got into Nintendo 64. We couldn't afford a new console, but I was able to play N64 once when I was staying in a children's hospital; I can remember thinking, "3D? WTF? That looks so weird..." I couldn't get over having to deal with Forward Back, in addition to Left Right Down Up. Smiley: lol

IIRC, She's always been called Peach in Japan.
Remember in SMB3, when you'd get a letter from her, it was signed with a picture of a peach?
Although, Super Mario 64 (which is when she was supposedly first referred to as "Peach" outside of Japan) does support what Himmelskralle said. The letter you get from her at the beginning of the game, she signs it "Princess Toadstool, Peach." I don't think it's ever been explicitly stated that her name is Peach Toadstool, but I tend to agree.

aye, that or Peach is like a nickname.

In Japan isn't Bowser simply called Koopa? When I was little he was always called King Koopa and then suddenly this "Bowser" stuff started to come around...idk.

I don't believe I'm chiming in on this but... I am of the opinion that Toadstool is part of her title, such as "Prince of Wales," with Peach being her actual name.

This is a sad day for Allegory.

I seem to remember him being called "Bowser" in the original SMB, but "King Koopa" in the americian cartoon.
But I think you're right about the whole "His name is Koopa in Japan" thing.

aye, I went and wiki'd bowser after posting this. I had no idea I missed so many mario games by not owning a DS. I still refuse to acknowledge any mario rpg which had nothing to do with squaresoft though.

In the Japanese version of Smash Bros. Bowser is always labeled as simply "Koopa", so yea.
