Not sure if any threads popped up a while back about this PC game. Anyhow, sitting in school this morning, I was perusing Gamespot looking for some kind of game I can throw a bit of time into once in a while. The game sounded pretty cool; plus I'm always up for some adult oriented content.

Anyhow, anyone like this or have any other recommendations? Any system is a go 'cept PSP. I'm just looking for something to pick-up Friday. Cannot be too time intensive because I work FT with 3 classes two days a week. So yeah, lets hear 'em.

I have it but couldn't get it to work. I'll ask a friend who tried it out and ask what he thinks. It looks pretty and the gameplay looked pretty good, although idk about clicking to attack all the time...

I bought it, and played it. It's a nice idea, learning about monster weaknesses so you can prepare for them. But, the game just falls flat. Frequent and long load times, a clunky menu system, horrendous controls in and out of battle. The list goes on. My computer is well over the recommended specs (not the minimum) and the game still runs like ****.

Avoid this game, unless you REALLY like to torture yourself.

My friend "obtained," a copy of Thw Witcher. The focus of the game is to go around having sex with women and collecting cards afterwards. Additionally there is a slightly long side quest were you are suppose to kill monster and complete storyline.

You have three different styles for combat: aoe, strong, and fast. This seems like the game gives you a bit of choice in flexibility, wrong. The strong style can only be used on strong enemies, the fast can only be used on fast enemies, and teh aoe can only be used on specific group enemies. Also there are two categories of weapons, silver and steel. Silver is best for monsters and incorporeals, and Steel for humans and animals. I say best loosely because the drawback is not that you do less damage to the wrong enemy type, but that you cannot attack it. This is made better by the fact that you can only carry three weapons, the ones you have equipped, and not store main weapons in your inventory.

So if you find yourself really horny when a polygon representation of a female makes a pass at you you'll love this game.

So I guess I shall lose a little more faith in the Gamespot review squad?

Any other good recommendations? I already know of all the major releases I wish to play. Any hidden gems that can be played in small time increments? I just got a second job (PT) so along with my main job and school, I'll have maybe like two hours a week tops.

yahtzee review

I agree with the review and above posters, i also "obtained a copy" and found it to be a very boring RPG, the fighting system i clunky and irritating, also are the menu's. Im an RPG nut (FF's, D&D: NWN, KOTOR, oldschool Black isle RPG's) and couldnt get into it, played for 5 hours and threw it off my HD.
But i couldnt get into Mass Effect either.

On another note, i really enjoy Devil May Cry 4 (xbox360), i havent played any of the previous parts but the atmosphere and game play/flow greatly reminded me of Soul Reaver, one of my all time favorite games. I personally liked it more then God of War (completed part 1&2).
As mentioned i like the atmosphere better, I liked the fighting system more and the combo system is a good incentive to play very tight and has me smiling if i entering the Super combo range. (after that you have the SS and SSS combo levels) And i think DMC4 is harder, but that could be due to the combo system.

What also helps is that I love the completely over the top typical Japanese style.

And its easy to get into and play it for an hour, maybe give that one a rent.

For PC if you enjoy shooters I would suggest COD4 or the Orange Box. CoD4 has a compelling storyline and I've always enjoyed its style of gameplay, however it can be a bit difficult at times. The orange Box affords you several games, and is easily worth the value. Portal is infinitely fun and TF2 has reached the top of my "bang for buck," expenditures along with WC3 and Smash Bros.

If you enjoy RTS games then Company of Heroes recently came out with a new expansion. It is as expensive as the original gmae, but actually adds more content.
