No SWG on the SOE Store site. Nor can you buy it from Lucas Arts store online or for that matter Direct2Drive. No copies can be found in any of the major retailers of PC games . If you want SWG-NGE you are going to have to get it for free from SOE as a Trial. No Revenue for the initial purchase - bad news for them. No CDs - Bad news for you.

I was hoping that the game would last a little bit longer but this lack of distribution maybe a sign that the product may not longer be supported in the near future.

speculation, could be anything.

if they didnt drop this game back when the NGE was still new, i doubt they will now, worst case scenario it will be scaled down like EQ was

I think i understand the point Jester is trying to make, though the summation is a bit dubious to say the least, i wouldnt expect direct2drive to handle swg anyway, as they only tend to deal with new games - i recently purchased Potbs from them and happened to browse through their titles, there werent many. i have never however, seen SWG in the stores, any stores, but as thats for the last 5 years, i can only say that its the same as most online games, barring perhaps WOW, who do tend to put games boxes on shop shelves. the only version you can buy with disks is currently the SWG Complete Online Adventures, which is through amazon, so stating that the game is no longer available except as a trial offer etc, is not true at all, he obviously didnt look very hard, or more likely, was very selective of his sources. SWG isnt going anywhere, if it was, it would have done so within the first year of the NGE, when subs were perhaps at their lowest. like many other of Jester Rodo's claims, this one should be treated with a pinch of salt, half of it he doesnt know, and the other half is ..... food for mushrooms... all he's really trying to do is stir up things from the past.

The life expectancy of MMORPGs is still nebulous. Look at EQ, UO...way past their hayday yet still being played. I doubt SWG will have the plug pulled on it anytime soon. However, its obvious they have turned their attentions elsewhere.

Well Gentlemen , I have also noticed with the advent of low to no distribution that the rumor mill is spinning on some of the other MMO sites. This may be an interesting week to come and I do wish all of you the best in it

Jestor, rather than reporting on rumours, i rather think you are instead trying to create them. You might try being less obvious about it, on the other hand, i've no doubt you could keep a mushroom farm supplied with the necessary fertilizer.. whatever your ultimate aim is, whether its self agrandizement or just an attempt to discredit SOE, your not doing a very good job of either, its worthwhile to remember that unfounded statements invariably fall appart when confronted with the truth. SOE has made enough blunders in the past that you could use far more tellingly, than the half truths etc, that you seem fond of.

Rumours are only born from truths not matter from what level of deniel they are viewed from. The NGE is in trouble , this is true. The rumours are part and parcel of this trouble. Only time can confine or dispell rumours so we will see.

You mentioned that Amazon has the game - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-Galaxies-Complete-Adventures/dp/B000IUQR4U

One copy of the game - overpriced at that.

rumours are born from truth? do you even know what a rumour is? do you know how many rumours there have been about galaxies that have been flat out lies? apparently not

I am highly ware of what a rumour is. Many of them concerning SWG have been highly amusing. But the end is near. I do beleive that there be a new Star Wars MMO and I also beleive that Lucas Arts does not want the skeleton of this MMO to be around to draw a comparision. I am willing to bet on it.

Or maybe its a simple fact that theyre having issues with direct to drive being available in all regions and have said that the complete adventures (with the new ITV) will be added to the station store soon...

I found that out after looking in the right places after about 5 mins of searching.

Your agenda is transparantly filled with your need/want/desire to kill the game as its not the game you remember or the one you left. So from the lofty perches of your mom's basement you decide to impart your knowledge and share it with us all.

... Newsflash...

Even if the CU or NGE hadnt come along something would. MMO's are always in a state of flux. Change is part of their nature.

So whats the next rumour?, go on mention the Kotor MMO or SWGEMU lol

... i thought the funny part was when he said that there was a new starwars mmo in the offing, and LA was going to close down SWG, rumours of a new Starwars mmo have been going round for ages, but thats all they are, rumours and grossly exagerated ones at that. its like the old saying, a lie is still a lie, no matter how many times its repeated.
the NGE is in trouble? a while ago i would have agreed, but, from what i see so far, its pulled back from the brink, and if SOE was willing to keep it going then, i see no reason for them to stop now.
its worth remembering that SWG is just part of the SOE station pass catalogue, so, if your waiting for SOE to close SWG, then, you'll probably have to wait a few more years, who knows, by then they might even be closing down WOW :D

I predict that in the future, more star wars based games will be made. Some of those will be mmo's.

RELAX! The complete online adventures is temporarily unavailable through the SOE website AND direct2drive. It IS however still available on gamestop.
SWG isn't going anywhere.

your the one in denial, cant seem to accept that the mmo you hate so much isnt dead, and is doing fine considering what its been through.

you know your screwed, when cloudancer, who iirc, was very big anti NGE, disagrees with you

ever since i first started playing this game, all ive ever seen is "vets" being whiney little ******* about everything, jesus @#%^ing christ
