I just got done playing the game. It is an awesome game but once again nintendo fails to deliver a solid single player experience.

Who's leg do I have to hump to get some story mode!

Did you play the Subspace Emmisary? That's pretty much the story mode.

Not a very great one at that, but hey its something...

I might have forgotten the name of it, but I think that's close.

who cares about the singleplayer in a game that's absolutely 110% meant for multiplayer?

On a side note did anyone else go out and get theres at midnight launch? Yeah well....I did, and i kinda regret it. To begin with it wasn't nearly as epic as the Halo 3 launch when comparing the amount of hype they both got. Seriously like they pulled out all the stops for Halo 3, I mean there was a line that went around the corner, 2 guys got in a fight ( had to call the cops), a local electronic store came by and setup 4 plasmas and 4 xbox's and everyone in line enjoyed playing some halo 2 lan while we waited for the game release.

Then theres Brawl....eh. Me and my buddies get there at 8:30 so we could sign up for the tournament that was gonna go down prior to release. That was a mistake considering the signups werent even closed until like 9:30 so we stood around the store for ~1 hour. The actual tournament part was fun because no one knew how to play and everyone was just slamming buttons yet still having a blast. When the first guy to pull off the final smash did it ( he was Ike) the whole damn store and line went wild for 10 seconds i swear.

Tournament ended at roughly 10:50ish and the 2 finalists get to sign up for the next round which is local then state, then regional or something like that. The rest of us get herded outside to join the line in the cold and wait another 1 hour before we get the game. I got mine today because i didnt have one reserved at launch so bleh. Pretty solid game I feel its lacking a little but delivers a lot and makes up for the minor flaws.

/cheers

My brother and I were going to get up at 7:30 AM on Sunday to drive to the next town over to their Wal Mart to buy it when the store opens at 8:00 AM.

**SIDENOTE** We live in the middle town of 3 very close together towns. The one the most south is Ronan, the middle is Pablo and the most north is Polson. The Wal Mart is in Polson.

I slept through my alarm clock going off and was up at around 7:50.

8:00 - Throwing clothes on
8:03 - Leave
8:20 - Arrive at Wal Mart
8:21 - Arrive at the electronics department to find that the Brawl wasn't actually as big as we though it was going to be, considering there were 4 rows of it, 3 of them holding 10 copies the other one holding 6.

8:22 - Get the hippie-sales clerk to get it out of the case and rack it up in the front.
8:43 - Arrive at the McDonald's in Pablo, yes we drove past our house because we wanted McDonald's.
~9:00 - Get home and play Brawl for hours on end.

Good times.

brawl was big, but most "video game stores" like gamestop or EB wont' sell you a copy if you didn't pre-order. This isn't because they don't have enough to go around, it's some weird corporate policy. I went to walmart and the guy said so many people showed up to buy the game, that he took them all out of the cases and kept them up by the register(several boxes full)

There were about thirty people at the wal-mart around here. Me and my friend were like, numbers 21 and 23 in line. The wal-mart had about 60 copies... But they were sticklers about making us wait till 1. (I say one because that night the time went 11:59 -> 1:00)

I work at a electronics dept. in walmart. I would say that it was actually pretty comparable to the halo 3 rush we had, except the halo 3 people were more fanatical. We got a memo from head office saying that every walmart would get at least 100 copies, my store got 180 copies. Still, they were all gone in less then 9 hours.

Milage will vary from store to store, but I'd say it was still a big release. Only recent ones that can compare would be halo 3 and burning crusade of course. Guitar hero had potential to be up there, but Activision is retarded and barely makes any for the wii.

I got my brawl though, picked it during lunch~
