Sony Online Moves To SCEI Division
Sony has announced that after a structural reshuffle, its Sony Online Entertainment division (Everquest, The Agency) is being moved to the Sony Computer Entertainment wing to better integrate with "the PS3 experience," with CEO John Smedley now reporting directly to SCEI president Kaz Hirai.

Sony says the new structure "is designed to mutually benefit both companies by further accelerating the PlayStation business through SOE's strong online gaming expertise."

The San Diego based division -- formerly part of Sony Pictures Entertainment -- is expected to continue normal operations producing PC and PS3 titles, but Hirai says the move will help online games and services to become "a more integral part of the PS3 entertainment experience."

He added, "This new structure will allow us to take full advantage of the extensive breadth of expertise of the two companies and increase our range of exciting entertainment offerings to our consumers."

Said Smedley, "We are thrilled to become a part of the incredible team that has made PlayStation 3 the premier platform for next generation online gaming. This move is going to broaden our capabilities and expand the development of our products into new and exciting directions." ENDQUOTE

I don't think that they are going to be pleased with expense of The NGE.

This should be shown to people as a warning of the darkside of mmo's and rp. What happens when you let something take over your life and just cant let things go.

When you can't stop yourself and think "its just a game there are far more important things in life".

When you've long since stopped being able to distinguish whats RP, what's outside of acceptable behaviour, whats real, whats not.

When you probably end up with your account and ip address banned for something that you cant see was wrong in the first place.

What then happens when your seperated from your ingame creation? You've lost your release. Feelings of resentment and hatred start to fester. Something eventually cracks. Perhaps you adopt another persona, this one in real life to help you cope. You cant get at them directly, so slipping on this mask, you pursue your big bad intangible demon, your own lil windmill and give it the appearance of a crusade, for justice for everyone!

So you spend your spare time sifting through various websites and forums, selling your self as the voice of truth and sharing your findings via the magic of the internet...All the while under the false assumption that people are actually interested in what is transparantly a very personal vendetta.

Maybe if you toss around enough half assed rumours one is bound to stick. Maybe if you say somethings dying enough eventually it will die! THEY WILL PAY!

Like some kind of tragic internet sandwich board. On the front "The End is Nigh" is written in faeces while on the back "Please look at me, i'm special".

When it comes down to it though, the truth is far simpler and its looking back at you in the mirror every single day...

Your a D***!

No amount of greasepaint or masks can cover that.

(note edited because d*** turned into Richard lol)

#4REDACTED, Posted: Mar 14 2008 at 2:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Don’t hate me because over 200,000 wiser MMO players and I have said no to the new game edition. I know what you are about to say, those players for the most part have moved on but they were not game banned for 22 months and then handed the NGE like it was a special prize when in reality its a dogcrap sandwich with extra **** on top.
