The Official Brawl Tournament Thread!Follow

Finally, after a few missteps and mis-queues we are finally ready to get going. This tournament is open to anyone.

Tournament: This will be a multi-round tournament plus finals for the game Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I will personally award 2000 Wii Points to our Champion plus 1000 to our runner-up and will double that reward if we get 32 or more players.

The finals will be determined by a number of swiss-rounds in accordance with the number of players that we have. If you need a description of a swiss system click here. In short, the swiss system will allow the top players to rise to the top and the other players play for the full duration of the tournament. After swiss-rounds we will complete a single elimination Top 4 or top 8 depending on the number of players we get.

4-8 players is 3 rounds plus Top 4
9-16 players is 4 rounds plus top 4
17-32 players is 5 rounds plus top 8
33+ is 6 rounds plus top 8 (if we go beyond 64 players we will extend the number of rounds).

A round win nets you 3 points, an intentional draw nets you 1 point.

Each round will last 4 days so that both players have adequate time to get together and play their matches.


Swiss-Round Rules:

Each round is comprised of a best of 5 match. Each match will be 3 stock and 7 min time limit. Each round will be 4 days so that both players can get together and play their round.

Items: The default setting for this tournament is no items. If, however, both players agree you may use the in-game default of full items moderate spawn rate. This will only be available for the swiss rounds and only if BOTH players agree.

The first game of any match will always start on Final Destination. After that the loser each game may use any stage listed below.

Registration:

Registration will be open to anyone that posts their Name and Friend Code in this thread. I will update this thread once a day and registration will be open until Thursday, April 3rd. Round 1 will begin on April 4th. Late entries will be entered as necessary with zero points after the first round. After the second round begins no additional late entries will be allowed.
