Hey guys! Not sure how popular this forum is, so i might post it in one or two places, but I need your help! If you love retro games like me, or you have even a hint of fiery 8-16 bit passion within you, please take a moment to read over this. It would help me more than you know!

I am currently studying media up here in Toronto, Ontario. For one paper, I'm taking a look at gaming as a subculture, and at the moment I've decided to try and define Retro Gamers as a subculture on their own. Without going into too much detail, I want to know if some of you will answer a couple questions...just so i can get an idea of the different ranges of gamers, what they like, and what era they come from!

Feel free to post the answers right here in the thread, and I'd really love if some of you added explanations if you deem it necessary. I want to thank anyone and everyone in advance for helping me out with this...let's see if i can prove that retro gamers are in fact their own subculture, seperate from the mainstream gaming culture!

Ryan

1. How old are you? 26

2. What country are you from? USA

(if you like, add 'why' to any of these questions)

3. How many consoles do you personally own? List them. NES, SNES, PS, XBOX, XBOX360

4. What is your favourite console of all time? That is a hard question to answer. While the NES was what brought it to me the SNES has some of my most fond memories. I'd have to lean for the SNES. The most gaming I've ever done was probably on the SNES. I would bring it to hotel rooms on vacation when I was a kid.

5. What is your favourite game on said console? Another hard question. Probably FF3/6(jp)

6.
B) Lost it/broke it over the years, and replaced it using ebay/flea market/etc.

I'm not sure what happened to my NES and SNES. After I joined the military they could've got sold or even... thrown out. I gave my PS to my cousin and I've traded in my Xbox.

7. If you had to play one type of game/system for the rest of eternity, would you choose:

C)Current-gen/next-gen consoles like PS2, 360, PS3, Wii

This was hard to decide but it pretty much fell on the fact that eternity is a long time and at least the next-gen consoles would look pretty. Also many classic games have been re-made and are available on the nex-gen consoles.
