GTA VIFollow
IT's coming, in like... a few days. And I'm extremely psyced. For those who didn't know, it will have 16 player online free roam but only on xbox live. 16 player online play. And downloadable content via the xbox live market place. Next-gen GTA please.
GTA IV apparantly got ign's 1st perfect 10 since Ocarina of Time. Not sure how I feel about that, but should be good nonetheless.

Ill wait for it to come out on the PC, if you have never played a GTA game on the PC you have no idea what your missing.

I love the fact that we're getting exclusive episode downloads starting in August on xbox live. That's what I call next-gen.

i somehow forgot about GTA4 until I saw an ad for it on TV this weekend. 10 dollar gift card with purchase at circuit city. sadly i dont think my wife is gonna let me buy it. :( damn...
I picked it up abit ago since Gamestop stayed open late for those of us with pre-orders. I guess it will get better but from the little bit I have played it I have not been all that impressed. Previous GTA games have had better controls IMO, I don't like the way the wanted levels work now, and the music is pretty much crap. You move at a snails pace unless you hold the A button down constantly. Granted to run on previous game you had to hold A down, but I mean you move VERY slow on here if your not holding A down. Seems like when I am driving the camera wants to fall right behind my car where I can't see in front of me. The hand to hand combat is more difficult due to clunky controls.
It probably does get better although I don't see anything changing the controls. I haven't even gotten a weapon yet maybe they mean for the main character to suck at hand to hand combat or something?
I'm not passing judgment on it just yet, I am just saying from first impressions I feel it was very over hyped. Thus far it just feels like GTA 3 with better graphics and a new character/story.

Neither of the game stops in my area had it in today unless you had it reserved. Quite frankly, I think they sell all the retail copies they get to their friends and ****. This whole trend of "preorder or don't get it" is rather stupid, if you ask me. If you're hyping the hell out of a game and you KNOW it's going to sell out, produce more ******* copies. It's bad business not to. As it stands, I probably won't get it for a week or two cuz I'm not gonna fight with the idiots at my local gamestop(s). Online orders only from now on for me.

Gamestop always acts like new releases that are popular are rare and hard to find They did the same thing with Zelda TP. They didn't have it yet every walmart in the area had more then enough copies.
Should be no problem buying it from other stores. Actually Circuit City is giving a $10 gift card away if you buy it from them.
After playing it abit more it is growing on me. It is a pretty good game well worth buying, but I do still think it was over hyped.

If ya want to be technical like that your forgetting GTA: london 1969 (On PC was an expansion on playstation a seperate game), vice sity stories and liberty city stories. That would make this one technically the 8th and if you dont count spinoffs its the 6th.

if you want to get technical, i think vice city and san andreas were pretty much expansions to gta3
