Looking for the game for meFollow

Hello there!
I like Morrowind a lot, have been playing that since release and I love the modding community, they do some great work.
I've played WoW for near enough 3 years, a bit off-and-on, I've never managed to completely quit - I HATE that it is so PVP-centric, but I love fishing, riding around, I love the 'jolly' feel to it- nice graphics and bits of humour - I play on RP servers, I don't group or join guilds etc., and only solo instances.
I couldn't get into Oblivion - just doesn't do it for me like Morrowind - I've tried EQ2 a few times, found it a bit linear compared to WoW somehow - tried LOTRO and didn't like it much at all.

I used to play Diablo 2, liked it in single player but got bored pretty quick - Baldurs Gate was fun years ago, but I tend to find story and quest-driven gameplay a bit too linear - NWN didn't do it for me, probably why I like WoW is the casual openness - taming new pets (I usually play Hunter) and fishing, but the PVPness of it makes my blood boil so it's usually not very long before I cancel my account and try other games..

Can anyone suggest a game which might suit my play preferences? I want a big new world to explore, preferably a pet or two to throw fish at, nice tradeskilling options, nice background music, sunset graphics and lots of hats to collect.

Please don't tell me to go write my own TC game mod! :P

Have you ever heard of Final Fantasy XI? The PVP is nonexistant besides in otherwise unused events and there is a job called Beastmaster that you can charm monsters and even call your own pets. The world is pretty big with a lot of different zones and scenery, and although there are a large amount of quests, many of them can be ignored if you choose to do so.

The "I don't group or join guilds etc" part kind of kill FFXI as an option.

Unfortunately, BST requires a fair amount of work in order to obtain, and from what I hear it just isn't what it used to be.

Also, he said he wanted nice tradeskilling options.

Furthermore, I'm pretty sure he wants a game that's actually fun.

Yea, I went there.

I didn't see anything in there about oblivion. Its got a huge world to explore thats for sure. Also a excellent main quest with a interesting story to go along with it. I had 88 hours logged into the game and I never did explore everything.

Have you ever tried Guild Wars?
I know you didn't really like the PvP from Wow and this game is centred alot around PvP, but I feel it is a nice aside from the actual storylines and it's alot more mature in my experience than that of WoW.
It won't last as long as a typical online game in terms of storyline, but there are four versions out now so it adds up to quite alot of adventuring, more than your average rpg for sure.
There are alot of titles to earn, you do get pets and even a pet job.
I don't remember any tradeskilling unfortunately =(

The graphics are fairly good too. I only play it now and again since it doesn't require a monthly fee so I'm not finished the storyline yet, but it's been interesting so far.

(Apart from that, if you like strategy games Civ IV is always worth a try, I love that game and the modding community is easy to access.)
