Hey,
I was wondering how to add coordinates onto my map. Because on the LOTRO Alakaz site it gives cords on a lot of quests. Thanks

There is no in game map feature to do this. The maps are 'pre' flagged when you pass over certain points in the game.

To view your coords in Lotr type ;Loc and it will display your current location. This feature DOES broadcast so you may want to send a tell to yourself to avoid spamming other channels.

I was never sure why they didn't have coordinates in the map itself when you view it. But you will get used to it.

Mostly because everything is saved online. The servers would have to load each persons individual marks from a private sector and I guess I can see where that would be a big issue. Perhaps some day when they get enough people asking for that feature they will program a way that you can store your flags locally in the lotro folder and read it from there.

Just a thought.

Actually, just a simple hot key to pull up present cords would be great. It's a pain in the butt to have to type in (enter) :loc every time you want to check out where you are at when trying to get to a location that you know.

oooh oooh, it's times like these that Mora can be of some use!

Some new players - even vets - don't know that Lotro has a macro system!

Linky: http://lotro.warcry.com/content/guides/alias_macros

If you want to make a button for ;loc try this:

1. type /alias add ;Locbutton /tell <yourname> ;loc

2. now type:

/shortcut <A number between 1-72, the number related to the spot on the quick bar, make sure nothing is in the slot of the corresponding number> ;locbutton

That should do it~

That shortcut doesn't work, it will always tell you the location that you where when you made it.

That means its working. ;) The short cut will send yourself a tell of your current location, this is the only form of cords ingame.

Alas, ShetiPhian is right. That shortcut always returns the ;loc of where you were standing when you created it.

Still not found a satisfactory alternative to /tell Nobby ;loc

I have an alias that works perfectly--make an alias called ;myloc the text in it should be--/tell[your character name];loc

that will send 2 tells to yourself giving your current location. then make a shortcut

/alias shortcut ;myloc [number of quickslot you wish to use]
