I've finished most of the Tier 1 gathering skill quests. And have started the rare Tier 1 gatherings. Finishing off a few. (Get a rare resource from a normal resource spot).
One I'm having trouble with is Brindled Leather. Rough Leather is dropped from creatures, but I can't seem to get Brindled Leather to drop from any creatures.
Anyone know where I can get the Brindled Leather?
Also, I cannot progress to the next tier of resource gathering, because my level (27) is too low. Level 35 is also too low, cause I guy I was working with had just tried, and he was level 35. Does anyone know what the required level is for Tier 2 resources?

I read somewhere (don't remember where it was, maybe the offical forums) that the second stage of gathering can't be started until level 40. I don't know about the leather though, but I read from the same source that the rare version of the drop is only a 1/50 if you are lucky, and 1/100 average.

If you've ever done the crocodile quest in Khopshef Province, I had about four brindled leathers drop from the crocodiles there.It wasn't for my quest, it was just a random drop at the time, but maybe you can try it out. I'm not sure if the level difference influences drops though, so g'luck anyways.
