I have seen peeps on painted mounts (white and brown) how do you go about getting one of those? I heard it was a rep mount, but could someone be more specific, please?

There are a few different mounts that you can get from the various reputations around LOTRO... also, there is one when the Fall Harvest Festival (or whatever it's called) comes about, that you get for winning a race.

With kindred faction you can buy the horses from certain faction merchants for 5g. The painted one is with Annuminus faction in Evendim, and the grey is from the Council of the North in Angmar. You can also earn a horse with Lossoth faction in the new area of Forochel, and I've heard there's one from pvp. All these horses seem to be a bit faster than the regular horse and you won't get knocked off as easily.

You can find pictures of some of them here:

Reputation mounts are NOT any faster than the ones you can buy from Hengstacer farms. There are supposed to be tougher to be knocked off though.

Founder's reward (level 25) horse is slower than regular horses.

What is the Founders Reward? Its not listed in the quests.

I have a lvl 23 Champion that would sure like any horse at lvl 25.

Bree Mount: Slow as hell, but saves you money for all your alts.

I think we were at about the eight month mark (following launch) when Turbine announced that everyone who had started their account on or before opening day (thereby qualifying as a founding subscriber) would receive a "thank you" gift from the company. That gift was (and is) a free horse commonly called a "Bree Horse".

This free horse is slower than the horses you buy and slower then the reputation horses but it is usable at level 25 (instead of level 35) and it is... well, FREE!!!

The bonus is applied to every character the founding member creates and takes the form of a golden scroll in inventory which can be exchanged for a horse at the breeder's farm near Bree.

My hunter has no use for the Bree Horse since the speed of the freebie is roughly the same as a hunter's innate (buffed) run speed however, my dwarven minstrel has gotten a lot of use out of his and at level 31 still has four levels to go before he can buy a faster pony anyway!

Bottom line is it was a very nice perk from Turbine and a wonderful way for them to thank all the folks who were in it from the beginning.
