I've played a few of them recently.. so why not?
God of War - Whenever I heard talk of this game, it was almost always referred to as the best action game ever made. I honestly think that couldn't be further from the truth. Sure it's a good game (and pixelated boobs!) but doesn't deserve nearly the praise it gets. Combat takes little to no planning or thought, and the level of violence is almost so gruesome that it's funny at times, more satirical than serious. Difficulty seems to increase simply by piling on more monsters until you just can't keep up with them all.
Game that does it better: Ninja Gaiden Black
Tales of Symphonia - Is this really the best rpg on the gamecube? (No, no it's not) I do love the game, and can definitely enjoy the story; the characters are pretty lovable and cute and the combat system is decent, but this thing deserves not nearly the level of praise that it gets. Firstly, it seems as if an rpg cliche' exists, then it appears in this game; the story is an amalgam of a ton of already done plot points.
Game that does it better (on the cube no less): Skies of Arcadia Legends
Brawl - This would be the best game that I've ever played if I hadn't been looking forward to it for two years. Maybe anything would be a letdown at that point, but sometimes it's just hard to enjoy. A shame really.
