Looks interesting. I wonder why they decided to use the original Mega Man sprite instead of the one from 7 and 8?

because it'll be on wiiware, although I loved the old megaman games I have to admit I'm a little bit disappointed. I'm fine with oldschool graphics, but not THAT old. In my opinion, Megaman 7 for the SNES was the best incarnation of megaman.

I loved Mega Man X1, X2, and X3, primarily because X was the first one I played.

I really enjoyed X3, but out of the original ones, Mega Man 2 cannot be topped.

x3 remains, to this very day, the only megaman X game I have never completed. The last boss is a huge pain in the *** who takes out ~25-33% of your life bar just by touching you, and the only way to damage him is to hit a very tiny area around his head...which doesn't really have a distinct graphical representation. In short, if you shoot him in the head he may or may not take damage. Shooting him anywhere else does no damage.

Does that mean that wiiware has to keep itself to crappy old old old old graphics? My Life as a King seems to fly in the face of that though.

I mean I like 2d graphics a lot, but they can improve in quality just as much as 3d. Notice the difference in say, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, or Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. IV was nice and CT was a graphical masterpiece.

I still think it's because it's possible to streamline production of oldworld style games using newer technology. Hence why I made the wiiware comment.

they could have kept the oldish looking style, but give it a FF1 anniversary type treatment.

that would be nice
