Yeah and I understand this, but for the most part, highly anticipated games like FFXIII would sell so many copies on multi-platform it kind of nullifies the incentive to stay exclusive. I'm sure this is the case with Sony not being able to convince someone somewhere along the line with chucking out another however many mil when they've already lost billions on the PS3. Especially in the case of the PS3 which has only sold around 13 million units worldwide-to-date.

Regardless, I've pretty much lost faith in the Final Fantasy franchise. IMO, they have been utter sh*te since IX. The only saving grace on XI is the fact that it's a MMO.

Believe me, they have a lot of accountants going over the potential sales on the XBox 360, and they can do a startling good job. You better believe that SE was asking more than that amount to keep it only on the PS3 because that also helps Sony in the long run keep more 360s on the shelves.

However, Microsoft, it's being speculated, offered a crazy amount of money to get a port of it. This move has next to nothing to do with America, and everything to do with Japan. Microsoft needs something to happen soon in Japan with the 360, or they will forever be the distant 3rd place (like the Gamecube was in America).

well, that cant be right, since theve said they have no plans for a 360 version in Japan.

Really? Gamespot was saying that it would be released in Japan during their E3 coverage.

I really don't understand the whole cross platforming thing either.

In my own opinion, if you cross platform so many games.. why not just make one fking game console that plays all the games? Wouldn't that be better for the consumers?

I always thought each of the game consoles had it's own specialty...

Microsoft: White boy ****... Sports, first person shooter (red neck), Virtual golf -.-

Nintendo: Children loves it?

Sony: for smarter folks who enjoys a bit more sophisticated RPG games.

I dunno if this type of thinking still exist, but that's how my friends and I perceived it when we were in high school/college.

So like I would buy different consoles for different reasons. If I wanted to have a house party, I'd get a X-Box and buy sports/shooter games. If I have kids at home, I'd look into the Nintendo series. If I'm enjoying a game on a sophisticated level, I'd get myself a Playstation. Well... now I guess it's all ******* But yeah, you know how Microsoft is.. "Look folks, we've designed the best Operating System on the planet (they believe), and we pretty much have 100% market share on OS's. So now we'll jack up the price on our software, we're thinking somewhere around $500, buy it or don't use a computer! Oh and if you want to use our software, you must spend $500 for each copy on each PC. If you Pirate our ****, we'll find a way to **** you over." Yeah, that's pretty much what Microsoft is doing to the gaming industry right now, ******* up good games/good consoles for Market Share.

Because then you wouldn't have competition between different companies, which is actually a bad thing.

Definitely true. One console, no reason to make major improvements. No reason to turn down the price to stay competitive. No competition to be compared with.

Then again, we already have one ultimate console. I'm typing on it right now.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but PCs are not consoles. They are still awesome for gaming though.

I hate to say it but you kind of sound like a biased douche bag.

It may seem "biased" but it's more towards the truth. Over time I've noticed as he stated for the Xbox, that most sporty people that like FPS' based sometime in the future where cars can fly, like that console.

Play Station systems are more serious and isn't taken as much of a joke. While those whom believe Xbox is better, honestly never have touched a Play Station.

On occasion I notice that Xbox users have no clue as to which system is better all around, so they just buy what's "popular" at the time; just as bored as hell people go on myspace, and people whom want to listen to music on a portable music player buy Ipods, while they have many other choices of things to do/buy that are wayyy better. This also may seem inconsiderate of me, but I believe that the only reason that the Xbox is famous/popular in the first place, is because of Halo. If Halo were to be released on Play Station or Nintendo only, I'd imagine that Xbox wouldn't be much of anything right now.

Not too sure about the Nintendo though, it's not just for children but for adults and possibly just family altogether (especially since the Wii release.)

No, it's not. If it's true at all then it's not true of this generation. The wii is for families and nintendo die-hards who have to get a zelda fix; the latter category is composed of mostly serious gamers. The 360 has about four good rpgs (Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Mass Effect, Lost oddysey) on it as stands and it's getting more before the year is out (Infinite Indiscovery, Last Remnant). The ps3 has nothing going for it besides disgaea 3 in the ways of exclusive rpgs. MaybeKH3 and suikoden VI, maybe. We haven't had any information on those last two though.

While disgaea 3 will be awesome, you're just ******* blind if you think that the ps3 is anything but a joke right now it loses to the xbox in both total library as well as exclusive library. It's total doesn't even come close to the 360 and even hardcore gamers can get a better library of games by buying a 360 and a Wii for less than it would cost to buy a single ps3 unit, or you could buy a 360 and 4 games for it for the same as just the ps3 unit. There is no competition here.

Your statement isn't even all that true for last generation. The gamecube turned out to be equal with the xbox's library in terms of teen and up enjoyable content. You're (again) blind if you don't see this. It did, admittedly, have a slow start, and never came close to challenging the ps2, but it was hardly a system just for kids. Hell it even had Skies of Arcadia which was a lot better than most of the **** rpgs that came out on the ps2; it blows away most of the wild arms games.

its to bad most of the 360s good "exclusive" games come out on the pc, making them not so exclusive anymore.

Really? Because I find the PS3 to be a big joke, and having "touched" both a 360 and a PS3 (not in that way you perverts), I can say with certainty that the 360 has many good games that the PS3 doesn't, while I cannot say the same for the opposite.

I will give you that the PS2 dominated the last generation and I still love playing PS1/PS2 games. I believe the ball was dropped on the PS3 though. The only thing it has going for it is it's a blue ray player that also can play some good games (but ones that aren't exclusive).

Most of the shooters do. Other genres are almost forgotten on the PC, aside from rts
