Those of you that like to voice ....sorry.....it's one more reason they have to keep the DAMN servers down for an extended length of time...yea I suppose it would free up my hands at times and coordinate attacks, but G*DDAMN peeplz....ALL FREAKING MORNING!!!! If it's broke.....DON'T FREAKING LAUNCH IT!!!! Am I the only one that sees the logic in this? I thought it would be a no brainer. That equipment is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive to F'in with like that, and......the good will they generated with avtive to the end promo is being damaged.....all and all......Devs regain their place at the head of the line of people who can "BITE ME!!!!!"

even if it wasnt't broke it still sux. theres always some loud mouthed kid trying to shout orders or babbling about nothing in a breaking voice, i do not look forward to this feature at all. i uninstalled ventrillo for good reason and have no idea where my USB headset went, now this is going to be like not an option but a must if you actually want to play socially.

what about the RPers? it will be funny to hear them say the sht they type out in voice.. if they are a wookie will they be growling on the mic like one?

what about when theres a neccessary moment for an "LOL" but you know, no ones every actually literally laffing out loud.. are ppl going to be saying "el oh el" in voice? that will suck...

last thing i want in any of my games is a bunch of random voices in my speakers.. no one even runs tactics anyway they just run around getting shot or w/e saying "HELP HELP ME GUYS!! WHY ARE YOU GUYS NOT HELPING ME??!" yea wow cant wait..

who says EVERYTHING has to be done on voice? or that its even required?

im pretty sure theres other games with built in voice where it works just fine.

if you dont like it, dont use it.

if people try to make you use it, then there likely not the kind of people you want to play with in the first place.

the way it's set up you don't have to use it if you don't want to. after tweaking it a little it works pretty good. i like vent a little more probley cause more used to it but it's not bad. i notice it has a delay and static every so often. they were having problems in tc from what i heard so it's no surprise when it went live they had problems lets hope it works now.

My only complaint is that I prefer to have game sound coming through speakers but like my voice chat to come through my headset, I generally run ventrilo on a second PC to allow this.

Personally I would have preferred they added voice chat to the station launcher but on the whole it seems to work ok when it runs and its not mandatory to use so I don't have much of an issue with it outside personal preference.

QFE

but i see it after a while as being a requirement for any type of grp play.. i hope i'm wrong. it will help ppl in long run i admit is is good for the game in the long run.. especially against spies... its much easier to cry out "Spy!" than try and type it while a spy is attacking you.. maybe at least the greater population will stop crying nerf on spies whnen they can cry out for backup much easier.. it will be tough as a spy to compete against voice communicating grps, but at least maybe the nerf cries will stop against that prof, or the cries to change the prof into a "forward observing profession" or whatever.. but still it kills some mystique to the person behind the toon when you finally hear their voice but w/e.. i am just old fashoin chat when it comes to net but i am washed up on that matter

voice chat, did they really need to bring that in, i do like the in game browser, but with programs like ventrilo and teamspeak, was it necessary to add another, as for the rp elements, voice chat really isnt immersive, how many players have good vocal skills after all, but more importantly, its intrusive, the A/S/L thing used to annoy me, but now you get voice chat requests all the time, and its like, i dont do cyber in text, what the hell makes you think i'd do it in voice chat. sometimes i really could spit nails, my ignore list is getting longer too... :(

well, there is a positive aspect, if someone out there actually can sing, and judging from what i've seen on the x-factor auditions, a hell of a lot of people actually can't. then you could incorporate that into your 'act' as an entertainer musician/dancer etc.
i just hope the guy/girl who has the dancing fat bothan doesnt sound like they look.

There probably is room in the game for voice chat, but, the problem is the text filter, and i dont mean the profanity one, its just that, how many times have you gone to give someone a piece of your mind after a bit of bad gameplay etc, in voice chat you can tell them instantly just how rubbish you think they are, and they'll hate you forever, but, if you have to type it out, at least you have a few seconds in which to edit your outburst, so to speak, and not lose a friend forever in a moments pique.

So i guess that means i still dont think voice chat is a good idea, most players dont sound like barry manilow, or madonna... i know i dont anyway, even my singing in the shower is a source of embarassment :D

cue really bad karaoke music....

see, now this is why its such a bad idea, if i've thought of it. you can be sure there are people out there doing it!
I just hope the Dev's realise what they've unleashed... it won't be long before people avoid cantina's and hide from entertainers!

thank goodness they didnt invent mimes... no wait.. i'd best not give them any more ideas!
