oops i just realised, i thought you meant in 1980... guess not younger than me after all :/

then again, wheres the rule saying you can't be immature anyway :D

my first computer was a spectrum... it was fantastic, all those games too, though getting them to load was a bit of a problem, then my brother got himself an atari 520st, and i think i probably stole it off of him as i used it more than he did :D
So its his fault i am addicted to computer games ;D

I remember having to drive an hour and a half to the closest tech that knew anything about computers to do the warranty work on my bought computer....LMFAO....a Packard Bell with a 70mb HD and 384kb ram or something stupid like that...I still have it and it still runs and comes up to a menu master that I wrote into the autoexec.bat. From there I rigged every executable file that could fire a game or a program....including windows....that had to launched from DOS. My first version had to be booted from disk...2.0 I want to say. I remember installing I.E. 2.0 and Netscape 4.0(NETSCAPE ROCKED!!and had the cool animation in the corner) before they killed it with 7.0....piece of garbage. I installed the very first version of Sound Blaster on the PC myself...F drivin an hour and a half. By the time I got done with poor packard bell....I was dialing in with a noisy *** modem that sounded like R2D2 getting raped.....I had crappy digitized sounds so I could hear the X-wing game and digitized voices in the game WOHOO!!!! It now had a CD ROM 1x speed and windows 3.1 and DOS 6.2.....a HD that was double spaced to 140mb not GB but mb and OH MY!....a ROCKING OUT LOUD 16MB OF RAM(That was huge back then...I would never need all that...EVER!).....resisted the urge to upgrade to windows 95...Thank GOD!.....waited until 98SE and built a new....my first pentium....A MONSTER P133Mhz....YEA!(Geek Flex...explodes an inkpen)....../sigh Good Times...Good Times....Gorilla....Kibbles....Scorch....Monopoly..D&D gold box games(all of them...still have them)Civ 1, X-wing, Tie Fighter, Doom, Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 3D, Blakestone, Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe(Lucas Arts), Mechwarrior, and so on...Lucas has kept me the most occupied through out the years and has weaseled unGodly ammounts of money from me.....and you know the Fed-up thing?.......if he makes the next one good...I'M IN DAMN IT!!!

I'm an old SWG'er, believe it or not. I don't stop by that often anymore due to the game now being a horrible slap in the face to anyone who remembers the pre-NGE days, but just thought I'd chime in.
