I watched this trailer after reading one of the CtrlAltDel mini comics...

There is NO chance I am playing this game. Don't get me wrong, it is beautful and has a great plot, but...

I am absolutely terrified. O_o

Anyone brave enough to play this?

It looks like it could have potential but the gameplay trailers leave something to be desired. It may very well be a solid shooter but unless they have something more innovative than "run and gun" it's going to be quickly forgotten.

Did anyone else think of Event Horizon when they saw the premise?

Somehow I don't see how someone could be afraid of playing a videogame. I would play it, I read about it in Game Informer and I thought it looked pretty cool.

Have you played F.E.A.R. and it's expansion: Extraction Point?

F.E.A.R freaked the hell outta me, but extraction point scared me so much I had to stop playing.

Can only Imagine what it's gonna be like when I get a sound card that works properly with my surround sound, or get some surround sound headphones.

Well, that might scare me but I don't know because I've never played it. I haven't been scared by anything that I have played.

I suggest getting it (Platinum edition should be cheap these days, which is F.E.A.R., Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate) and play it on the highest graphics you can go to (the darker the shadows, the better).

What console is it for?

I think it's PC exclusive, but they may have brought it out on consoles, I shall check.

The original is on PS3 and XBox 360, and all three are on XBox 360 in a pack called F.E.A.R Files

F.E.A.R. is the only FPS that's ever made me get close to pissing my pants. That stage where you climb down the latter, turn around and suddenly Alma is standing on the ledge you just left? I shrieked like a little girl. And in the elevator? And the vents? Jeebus I was afraid almost constantly in that game. The only exceptions were the action sequences, which also rocked like hell.

And those Techno Ninja enemy thingies? First time I saw one was in those office spaces. I heard things move, and saw things in the corner of my eyes. Then I explored the offices and suddenly I saw one in my flashlight's beam, hanging by his arms up in the corner underneath the ceiling. He turned his head towards me and vanished up into the ceiling... I quite calmly quit the game and went outside to get a beer and a smoke.

One of the best fps games I've ever played.

I can't get over the motion sickness that game gives me. I have everything cranked up as far as it will go graphically, but 10 minutes in I'm so nauseous I have to shut it off Smiley: frown

Why would you get motion sickness?
#14 Aug 06 2008 at 12:02 PM Rating: Good
First person shooters do that too me to some degree. I think it's the proximity to the monitor, if I play say COD4 on my PS3 and sit across the room I'm fine. But close to my 22" monitor and I'm ready to hurl.

Oh, yeah I can understand if you get too close to the screen. If you're moderately far away then I would imagine that your would be fine.

One of the things that scared me the most in the first one was when you're walking through the office room full of cubicles, turn into one of em and Alma is on all fours running diagonally at you and suddenly she disappears.

Have you played Extraction point yet north?

Haven't finished it yet... I'm going to, though, as soon as I get my stationary packed up. It's been in cardboard boxes for a while now.

Does anyone think Bioshock was scary? My brother thought it was, but when I played it I thought it was kind of funny.
