As announced, today's update is a small maintenance that fixes some issues. The update which is currently available on the test server needs some more testing and is planned to be ready for the live servers soon.

The update today includes the following:

* Resolved several issues with the Arena access quest, hopefully it should work correctly this time, and this time we really mean it! (or poor Aquilus might meet with a very unfortunate end if he insists on being so troublesome in the future!)
* Travel NPCs will no longer erroneously show the same destination multiple times
* Altered the loot table of the Beguiler Demons in Potain so they are now dropping more appropriate loot.

A lot of people been waiting for this fix, a damned lot of people. Aquilus will indeed have his knackers pounded into the dust if he mucks up this time.

ps: ive noticed (not very hard) that this forum is having less and less visitors. Maybe an indication of how well/bad the game is doing. The game does have issues (duh) but it would be a shame to see the realms empty and merged due to the lack of players.

I think the lack of posts in the forum here is because Allakhazam has yet to provide the same info as it does to WoW, LOTRO, etc. I know other sites that do provide info have a more active forum such as Ten Ton Hammer.

Here I be!

No srsly, the inactivity on the forum kind of made me hesitant to post. Since no one seemed to read it or reply to it :(

Yes, that could well be the reason... I think they're waiting for enough demand to create that info, but judging from the amount of posters on this forum - there's no real demand for it :)

And yes... I too see many ppl leaving AoC - not because of the bugs but out of boredom and lack of support! More and more return to their former games :( which is too bad because yah, the community and ingame friends is what makes half the MMO, if not more.

I think Funcom is making a few mistakes in management. They fix stuff, but test it poorly (like the arena) so it still doesn't work. Customer service takes ages to reply on tickets (one even got no reaction to it at all).

Tbh, I have not yet refreshed my gametime this month. I will be doing that, but I'm in no hurry. I just don't understand what Funcom is doing! There's a lot of potential in AoC!

My sentiments exactly. Game is great, but people are dropping like flies. If it was the only mmo i played i would be gutted. Thankfully wow draws me back every other day, keeps my head cool and keeps me off the aoc eu forums, ha ha, which are terribad to the extreme.

When it comes down to it, its not the game that winds me up. Its the Mods/customer support and the way in which it treats people. I applied for a mods position way back in may just before launch, the application was quite extensive, none disclosures, forum practices etc. I got the position along with another nine ppl.

At that point the forums exploded, game launch madness, flame city wall to wall. I was sent a mail by Glen Swan asking for my forum handle/name which was promptly sent. That was the last i heard from the guy, never recieved another mail. Contacted forum mods and was told the positions had been taken. Thats when the 2 Pi team turned up, Pro Forum Squad.

I guess they brought them in as a "clean up" team, the forums were bad and i suppose they wanted a more aggressive stance. Everyone wishes for a flame-free forum, but to annihilate every topic that disagrees with Funcom and its products is way over the top.
There are certain topics that will not be tolerated, it doesnt give much room for the customers to get things off their chests.

Having said all that i still love the game, im lvl 50 because i rp too much. Not having reached the cap like a lot of people have is fine, they are bored and i am not. The only problems ive had are either quest bugs or terrain issues, the game runs like a dream.

It used to be the other way round but i tend to be reading the US forums more now, slightly better moderation and more info coming through overall.
Still doesnt have the polish of Warcraft, jeez, it may never, but i like rough diamonds, especially ones that can do fatalities.

Well, it is true there are many that are taken along in the flood of criticism. The negativity of the community on my server rubs off on me a bit as well. It doesn't stimulate me, so I play solo mostly. Am almost 50 on my highest char, but I play several.

In my guild, the raiders are complaining about boss mobs being bugged and loot issues.

I guess this will all tone down a bit after Funcom gets around to fix the big issues. But their customer support is indeed awful. Not replying to tickets at all is soooo bad. Still haven't heard a thing and it's been a few weeks already.

I'll be back when they get the stains out :) but I keep checking on how they are doing.

And the EU forums are so unreasonable. Some ppl are just having a go at Funcom or mods to vent their frustration, taking other ppl along in that sentiment. Never going back there.
