Does anybody play Metal Gear Online? I'm fairly new to it, and not having player MGS4 I'm still getting the hang of the whole gameplay. (I've been plowing through the old ones because I haven't played them and I'm now up to Snake Eater.) If anyone wants to have a match sometime my character name is MasturCheef just look me up.

Go G Snake Eater!

I absolutely love MGS3, must track down the guy that has my copy (either that or I'll buy a new copy).
The camouflage aspect of the game rocks.

Lol my brother let his friend borrow Snake Eater and my cousin borrow Subsistence, so I was on a wild hunt to get them back. I beat MGS2 and was building up anxiety energy without being able to move on to the next one because I didn't want to skip straight to MGS4.

This thread is old, but I might as well bump it instead of making a new one! My friend and me both play MGO at his house whenever I have some free time. Our character is named "Blackhalo" iirc. Right now we're on a mission to cap all our skills.. Right now we're at...

Handgun: 2/3 Small Machine Gun: 3/3 Assault Rifle: 3/3
Shotgun: 2/3 Sniper Rifle: 3/3 Hawkeye: 3/3
Surveyor: 1/3 Quarterback: 3/3 Trickster: 3/3
Blades: 3/3 Manomania: 3/3 Shield: 1/3
Runner: 3/3 Box Move: 3/3 SOP Stealth: 2/3
CQC: 3/3 Quick Recovery: 1/3 Sixth Sense: 3/3
Scanner: 3/3 Scanner EX: 1/1 Narc: (orz) 1/3
Instructor: 1/1

I'll probably start my own character as soon as I buy myself a PS3~

It would really be nice to see more people I 'know' playing this game. Smiley: grin This game is so much more fun than CoD4, I boosted a teammate up over the fence during a rescue mission in the virtuous vista map, and then he pulled me up and we proceeded to obliterate the other team since they didn't expect us to come from behind. Smiley: lol Scanning anybody during a team stealth mission is also epic. :x

You played the games in the wrong order then; it's MGS3, MGS, MGS2, and finally MGS4. Even with the order you played them in you still have the huge time skip between MGS2 and MGS4; skipping over MGS3 wouldn't have made a difference.

that may be the order they go in, but there best played 1-3.

Only one I ever enjoyed was the old NES one although i never could beat it because it was too hard and I always wrote the passwords down wrong :/

I tried the first one for PS1 and the 3rd on PS2 and was too difficult for me to enjoy.

I would love to see them make a remake of the first metalgear for Nintendo DS or something. It could be a really good game just make it a tad easier and get rid of the paragraph long passwords.

There is a remake on the gcn; it's the definitive version of MGS, mainly because you can aim in first person.

and the graphics are better

This. Chronologically is not always best. You don't go "OH SHI-" at the end of MGS3 if you played it before 2.

They released a box set of metal gear games for the playstation 2, and the first one is actually the ps one version. The problem with MGS the twin snakes is that first person makes some of the boss fights, like ocelot, too easy. The cinemas are also love-hate, they are by ryuhei kitamura, who did versus, godzilla: final wars, and Azumi. So they get pretty over the top, and may not be for everyones taste.

Because relying on a glaring gameplay flaw for difficulty is the hallmark of a good game Smiley: rolleyes
