Cool free MMO I foundFollow

it's all gory and intense like...and now that I think about it, Manwithplanx may have mentioned this game in the past. It looks pretty cool, but I haven't actually had a chance to play it yet. Right now I'm working on the client download.

It looks cool though, and it's free - might be worth checking out.

So now that I've actually played the game it's kind of interesting. Picture a Korean grindfest combined with WoW, meaning quests give lots of exp and leveling is easy. It even has battlegrounds just like WoW. It is a bit "darker" than the traditional MMO...but so far I'm having a good time. My current char is named babidoll and she's on the server which starts with the letter "L"

I will probably make a male char at a later time, but the female char at the character creation screen looked pretty durn sexy in her panties. I guess I'm a digiphile?

The gameplay video I tried to download came up with an empty .zip for some reason. It is, however, hosted on youtube. I have to admit, I'm more than a little impressed.

My observations thus far: It looks like Lineage 2 and plays like World of Warcraft, in that the primary method of leveling is geared towards completing quests rather than grinding. There are also battlegrounds similar to world of warcraft, so it would seem. I haven't actually tried them out yet. I'm currently a level 12 Turan Female Defender.

Considering it's a free game I am very pleased. My only *problem* is how ****** the environments look. The game takes place in a post apocalyptic world where technology is both very advanced as well as very primitive. Most of the game you'll use swords and other things like that. However, the game lets you alter your character's DNA by visiting a DNA engineer...so science is still around...it would seem.

I'm interested in the possession beast system which lets you morph into a fearsome monster for a short time. In order to use possession beast you must complete a quest which first becomes available at level 23, but the possession beast cannot be used until level 25. It's very similar to a limit break type of thing in final fantasy games. As you kill monsters a small gauge called the "hardcore gauge" begins to fill up. If it is at 90% or better you can transform into your beast and the gauge will slowly decrease from then on. A better way of looking at it might be to compare it to Devil Trigger from Devil may cry.

The only beasts I know of at the moment are Giont and Rebria, although the game seems to imply there are more. Giont and Rebria are selectable after completion of the quest, and only one is selectable at that time. Giont is a melee type and Rebria is a caster type. It's important to note that regardless of your character's class, your possession beast can be whatever you like. This means if you're a healer type, you can still transform into a melee type monster and vice versa.

After a lengthy download ***** torrents, Direct2Drive ftw!) I'm finally installing. I can't wait...

@ paradax: I'm not sure, but I remember seeing guys at level 70 in youtube vids.

@ Doug, I play on the server that starts with the letter "L" if you want to party together. I'm perfectly willing to re-roll on a different server(there are only 3, I think)

Also, and this is important, the game is pretty lame up until level 10 when you can actually choose a class. Until that point you're pretty much forced to be a melee char.

I'm really liking it so far. I chose the same server as you kayne, incidentally. I especially like how you see the bloody bodies of your enemies twitch around after the killing blow. Unfortunately, it looks like there are too many hotkeys for me to set up an intuitive system. I like my quick items on 1-0, my inventory as I, character/status as S, map as M, etc. Like this I can't map the entire thing and I find that it's just easier to click the icons. Definitely not liking the chat box either. Guess I'm so used to the one in FFXI that I can't stand having to filter everything and keep track of multiple convos. Oh, and the dumbass bots spamming currency sales. Big turnoff.

the currency sales confuse me a bit, because you can buy expanded services through the game & equipment and upgrades drop frequently enough from enemies in-game.

I have a turen female named Babidoll around lvl 14

I'll probably download it to try it. What class (archetype, I suppose) are both of you playing? The defender is a melee, correct? Should I make a healer/mage type?

I did mention it and I haven't had the pleasure of playing it in a while

It's very good and there is an option of paying and you get boosted xp and a couple other usefull things

honestly, it doesn't seem like it matters too much. Most classes seem to be either melee/tank melee/dd melee/ranged or healer/dd buff/dd or healer/dd

I don't have much experience though. So far it seems my defender is OP. Most mobs around her own level seem to either miss her entirely or hit for ~3 damage. The only thing I really hate right now is the 10 second potion cooldown and only when fighting nightmare-class enemies

Downloaded and patched it. Having a hell of a time actually playing, though. Half the time, it runs smoothly (I rolled a Battle Magician, I think, on whatever the L server is, named Mendra), the other half, it craps out. I'll run up to attack something, and the game freezes, as if trying to process pi to the infinity place. Really pisses me off. Had a bunch of deaths so far, because I'll run up, attack, it locks up, until I'm at 1/2 health or lower, and then I start to autoattack... because, apparently, autoattack doesn't work through lag Smiley: rolleyes

I've had one bad lock-up, but my character is designed purely for +hp and +evasion. So far I've died maybe 3 times. Two of the three deaths were versus Nightmare-Class monsters.
