WAIT! Before you hit that big red arrow, let me explain.
I am a gamer. I do not hate gamers. In any way, shape, or form.
But thanks to issues like this, gamers (or just video games, specifically) are viewed as bad.
Look at GTA. When people do things like the Hot Coffee Mod, it devalues the industry as a whole.
It doesn't take a genius to see that anyone who beats someone else for RuneScape items and money has some issues, but the thing is, people, especially those who don't play video games, are going to look down on video games.
Anyone remember Jacko the Whacko Thompson?
I guess what I'm getting at is this: Incidents like these just bug the crap out of me, because it gives people a reason to devalue something I find very enjoyable, simply because every one out of about 600 million people decided to do something or break some law, and blame it on video games (or in this case, do it because of video games).
It's like saying, "Well, that one guy went crazy with that spoon and stabbed everyone in the face, so now nobody can be trusted with a spoon. Eat your soup with forks."
Yes, I know this has been brought up before. Yes, I know it usually sparks flamewars. But I just needed to vent. Every time I see something like this, I pull out my soapbox and get ready for some good old-fashioned ranting.
