I love the CMing, the not having to loot your corpse (or anything like that), classes sort of the same (back stabs for rogues please), races (drow), dual wielding, starter towns (for the different races), group dynamics (I don't want to play a game where every class can solo defeating the purpose of working with your group).
I loved this game and eventually the servers will close. I have played a lot of MMOs (maple and guild wars are the two I enjoy the most out of many). Has anyone played a game like EQOA though?

No, there isn't.
Guild Wars has good pvp and that's it...but you put maplestory in the same category as it?

Nooo I said (or meant) that of everything I've played (with classes being important), MS and GW are the only two that have kept my attention.
FFXI is just like eqoa, only thing different is the experience.. 14k exp can get you from about 40-41 but in eqoa 14k at those levels wont get u a pink..
But yeah that makes things better tho, if you get a good party you can get about 3-4 levels in that 1 party also if you need just a little bit more TNL .. like 1k you can take that out in about 20mins.. on eqoa if you need another yellow.. lol have fun soloing that..
But its about the same everywere else.. you need a group for everything (just like in eqoa)
Its not hard to get plvl'd.. I started a new job and got 1-20 in half a day of being plvl'd .. (thats like getting 1-35/40 w/ boon on eqoa)
they have backstabs (SATA - Sneak attack, Trick attack) duel wield (Sub-Job Ninja lvl 10)
The bad things about FFXI that make me not want to play though is how their economy is ****** from all the gil buyers.. lvl 10 armor is like 5k a piece and you outgrow it in like 30mins.. and takes u like 2hours to get enough for a full suit at those levels..
So first starting off your gear is gonna be garbage..
another thing is you have to join the right linkshell (guild) or the game is going to suck for you.. you will need help starting at lvl 18 with the subjob quest.. then at 20 you have to get to jeuno for chocobo quest then 25 kazham keys.. you will need helpful friends xD
but its fun with all the campaign battles .. and defending the cities and stuff..
Hope this helped some people see the game how I see it.. I only wrote so much so those other people who are looking for a good MMO have something to look at..

I hear Warhammer for pc is something like Eq, but I haven't tried it personaly. But you can check it out :)

I read at mmorpg.com that warhammer is un fixable all the classes are unbalanced and everyone runs around as the strongest class in the game that can do about anything perfect..

Well when I quit eqoa for whatever reason a long time ago the first mmo I played after that was FFXI and it was okay but it wasn't quite for me. I still have not found a mmo that I had as much fun as I did in eqoa. BUT! There is this mmo coming out called "Darkfall" and it looks quite promising, like it has a lot of things that I think mmo's really need in order to evolve. I would tell you it's features but there are just so many cool/good ones you might as well just check out their website and forums. It's not out yet but it should be out on jan 22nd of 09. They have been working on it for a very long time from what I hear.

Honestly, I also left EQOA to play FFXI and I was a little disappointed. I personally like EQOA better. FFXI and be very confusin at times. And its true you will need alot of help for alot of things. I also like how EQOA s easier to lvl. I would not recommend FFXI over EQOA I will it.
Another game just coming out is Aion .. it looks nice and they have all these combos and stuff and traps you can set thats actually like a rock slide and you get all this EXP for taking out all these mobs
Only thing I hate about it is that everyone gets wings at like lvl 10 or something but you cant even fly
