Anyone have a buddy key to spare?Follow

I'm interested in trying LotRO out again - last time I played, it was still in beta and a little rough around the edges. I really loved the quests and lore, however.

I would very much like a buddy key to try the game out on another account, though if anyone happens to be sitting on a stockpile of game card codes, I could use them to resuscitate my old account.

Thanks in advance!

The future doesn't seem to bode well for LotRO - I've been asking around for buddy keys for about a week now to no avail. Turbine needs to make the trial more accessible, and the game's players should be making more of an effort to give out their keys. I very rarely hear about this game, and it's going to continue to slide deeper into obscurity if things remain as they are.

There's a 14 free trial, no need for the keys anymore I think... not to mention most of us are buried in the new expansion and not paying much attention to anything else

Actually, I think the free trial was suspended a few weeks before the launch of Moria. Most of us that have been playing since the beginning have probably given out their buddy keys, or just lost them. I expect the free trial to come back after the first of the year.

Yeah I just looked, didn't realize it was suspended for MoM, but they do say it'll start again shortly after launch of MoM. And yeah I have no idea where my 20 keys are or however many founders got over the year.

I would think that 'not offering a free trial' is a sign that a game is faring well rather than not. (also I think LoTRO has made many of the top 10 video game lists for 2008.)

But, as others have mentioned, the 'buddy key' had been dropped for simply a free 15 day (or was it 12, maybe 10 days???) trail. But that was suspended for the release of MoM.

You get 30 free days to play if you buy the game, it's really not much of an expense.

If you know anybody who still plays they can send u an email from thier lotro.com account page that will give u a key for ten free days you have to start a whole new account for this to work thoughSmiley: frown. If u decide to buy the game and comeback, they will get free game time if they already have a lifetime memb they will get a game card code that they can share with you. Hope this helps you out

I couldn't care less about my buddy keys. I don't know or care how to use them even. Wait...I know, if a RL FRIEND of mine wanted to see about playing, I would probably dig up a key for them. Imagine that, a buddy key for a buddy of mine?

Why should anyone with a fully paid account care if an anonymous internet person [moocher] gets a free trial? The only thing that doesn't bode well for LOTRO is you getting a free trial until Turbine opens up the program again.
