How was everyone's weekend? I wasn't able to spend as much time as I wanted in Middle Earth due to exams, but hopefully I'll be able to play more over break.

Friday, I grinded quests in the waterworks and attempted the Forgotton treasury until I was interrupted by my oh so loving girl friend.

Saturday, I spent most of my time getting to 56, (I'm really hating the waterworks at this point) and played around with my Rune-keeper a bit and got him to 21.

Sunday, I wasn't able to log on ;(

So how was your lotro weekend?

Didn't get to play as much as I wanted either. Did manage to snag a Festival Pony Friday night/Saturday morning. Then spent yesterday running around doing Inn League quests and drinking alot...

Is that what 'Link Dead' means?

We were getting semi-pwned (Treasury) with you, but we made another stab at it (with 5) before giving it up. Need a real tank 55+ I think (not my gimpy 54 captain). Could not grab aggro with any regularity. Nevertheless good to see the place. For the rest of the weekend was busy leveling (and twinking) up a Warden.

Friday we were without power until about nine pm. I'm pretty sure I logged in at some point, I think a roamed the Moors a bit with my spider was all.

Saturday morning I helped some local hobbits with Yule Fest preparations.

Saturday night hooked up with some friends on my Minstrel. We all got spiffed up in our holiday finery and hit the Silverlode Mines to finish up various quests. We took the time to examine all the little 'things' - the markings over doors (we found the broom closet) the goblin cave paintings, the various crystal forms, etc, etc. I've not had such a fun relaxed gaming evening in a long time.

Sunday was all about hitting 35 with the Warden and getting her horse. I'd forgotten how long and grueling those horse quests were! I ended up spending way more time than I had anticipated getting a horse-license. I blame Turbine for two burned batches of x-mas cookies.

Some screenies:
Minstrel in her Holiday outfit in front of the Yule Tree.
Warden on her spiffy new Yule pony.

Edit - fixed links

I completed this once with a group that had obviously done it a few times. They knew the correct order to turn the wheels, what color shard to use on what boss etc. My Minstrel was 54 at the time, but the rest of the group was 57 and up. It was still very challenging, and one time through will not complete all the quests. It's a pretty fun instance though.

I missed the run at the Waterworks (I think either Nobby or Mora went in my place) but I had a fun weekend none the less.

Made it to 56 on Saturday. Spent a good portion of my time in game polishing off light & dark blue Moria quests to clean out my quest journal. I also made some headway on the epic line and did a good amount of LI work.

I think I've changed out my hunter's LI bow 3 or 4 times now. The current version has some nice stats and is (min) lvl 55 although I'm sure I'll dump this one too when a better one comes along!

I am also working up two main hand weapons, (mace and axe). I know I can't dual wield them, I just want to be able to choose between them. I think I have changed each of these weapons out at least 2 or 3 times as well. Seems to me that the LI system encourages you to be fickle!

But my big achievement for the weekend was a solo trip to Orc Watch. I set out to reach it on several occasions but didn't make it until Sunday afternoon. The road there is paved with mobs and the route is none too straight & simple! Still, I was glad to have reached there with only one death.

Yes that's what going link dead means, except I didn't cause it, she felt the urge to turn my comp off while I was on it. I couldn't really do anything...either get back on and get in a fight with her, or submit ;(

I'm whipped....

Like Dot said...Friday we got pretty much thrashed in the Treasury. ...learned something though at the end, do not touch the treasure pile!

Dinged 60 on Saturday night. In my opinion the non-war speech minstrel is closer to the beta minstrel than ever: attrition killing is back and works. It's slow as all hell, but it makes surviving a botched pull of three evens more likely than it has been in a long time.

Saturday I discovered that going 4 in to the protector set makes the AV buff pretty spectacular (+1620 AV to the entire group). I can't wait to give that a test in a group setting.

Sunday, I screwed off crafting and chasing rock nodes around.

One frustrating thing, I'm getting a bit annoyed that almost every LI book that I've ID'd, except 2 (carbon copies of each other too), have been strictly war speech stuff. I've almost given up on expecting anything useful to me on a LI weapon other than the dps. I'm using a level 55 book that's at level 29 (of 30) because I haven't seen any others come close to it from a healing perspective.
