A friend and I will soon be starting our adventures in middle earth and we are looking for some suggestions.

1) Server to play on - We are looking for suggestions on which server to play on. We want a server that has a nice mature community. We want a server that has enough people to get into groups and a dencent kinship, but not so busy that mobs are constantly perma camped.

2) Classes/Races. My friend has decided to play a Guardian. What would be a good race for him to play? I'm at a tossup between a Minstrel or a Captain. Would either of these be a good DUO combo with a captain? I know a captain can only be a human. Whats a good race for a Minstrel?

Brandywine is thought to be the most populated server. I know I've seen wait que's for Brandywine, Elindilmir and Gladden on a few occasions. I'm guessing that all servers have a healthy population. I'm with Mora though, you should play on Meneldor. The population is good, and the players, for the most part, helpful and friendly.

My main is an Elf Minstrel and I love the class, but really play what appeals to you as that is what you'll have most fun with. The traditional tank/healer combo certainly works, but all the classes are self-sufficient enough to make most any duo doable. As far as a race for a Minstrel (or for any class), well again it's personal, each race gets its own little 'tricks' but race will have little impact on stats in the long run (fyi, Hobbits are scary).
