"The Wary", "The Undefeated", "The Indomitable", "The Unscathed", "The Undying", Ever seen one of those and perhaps wanting to add it for your title for some reason? Well, too bad you died once at level 9 and now your unable to ever get them.

I'm a perfectionist, if i play a game i want to be able to unlock everything that i'm supposed to, i don't like these titles but i find it annoying that if you miss the one chance, you will never ever have it again, how about changing them to "Kill 50/100/150/200/250 enemies within 2 levels of yours in 30/60 min without being defeated" or "Survive XX time in XX area while fighting an enemy every XX minute" or something like that? This may sound stupid but these survival titles was the one thing making me think about buying this game.

I wanna hear other people's opinion about this topic is.

I have 7 characters. I had this title thing in the back of my mind while leveling each of them but I think I only managed to get one of my first 5 to Undying. Most bought the farm around level 13. I recently got my Warden the title, but my last character took his first dirt nap at level 16.

I did not really care all that much to re-roll any of the failures, although I only REALLY tried to get it with the Warden. Even so, I was careful but not super careful. The Warden is a great class for survivability which helped. I came close to being defeated more than a few times.

Other than the effort with the Warden, I never thought these titles meant much and I probably ran around with the Undying title for about 20 minutes. I guess I just wanted to get at least one of my toons the Undying, but like that uber level 20 weapon, it goes on the junk heap soon enough.

If you really want to do this:

1. Choose the Warden or Guardian class for survivability. Minstrel might work too. Equip best shield/armor you can and fill every gear slot that adds +armor or stats (Vit, Agi, Might are good but you don't have much choice at low levels).

2. Skip intro and do most of your early quests in The Shire. You can easily hit level 12-13 without even equipping your weapon. My record is getting to level 16 without killing anything, but doing that is pretty tough in itself. Should get a title for that!

3. Do all the crafting quests (cajole kin if you cant make the stuff yourself).

4. Avoid PuGs. PuGs will get you killed quicker than you know what hit you. Also you do not want to put groupmates in a bind if you can help it, or get a bad reputation as a runner, while you attempt your title.

5. Plot your escape route in advance and don't be afraid to run!

It is a fun thing to accomplish, but I would not re-roll a main character or quit the game because I didn't get it.

Define perfection?

Do you also complete each and every quest even after they have gone grey to you?

Do you complete each and every deed in the game? Achieve every trait?

Do you acquire every title?

Do you explore every area, visit every location and see every inch of ground the game designers have made available to you?

Have you killed each and every mob in the game at least once?

How often do you evaluate your stats and visit a bard to adjust your traits?

How often to you evaluate your weapons/equipment for upgrade?

Do you change food/potions as soon as you reach a level where you can equip them?

Really... seriously... what is perfection?

Personally, I am having the very best time I can possibly have in this game... I enjoy myself every time I log in. I am progressing through the content, achieving goals, hanging with friends and relieving stress.

Is there a way I could I eek out any additional 'fun'? /shrug.
Maybe so but so what! I'm already having fun and isn't that the point?

Only thing those title are good for is to give me a good laugh when I pass a Rez circle and there's someone standing in one with the title.....

My Warden and Captain both have The Undying. I used to be so neurotic about getting that title, that I literally deleted my characters if they died. I actually still do, at times =/

I like them the way they are, I suppose.

My Burglar and my Hunter have all the titles.

1) Do all the quests in the lowbie areas. Thorin's/Ered Luin, The Shire, Archet/Bree etc.
2) Play with a friend.

I go for survival titles with my alts more as a joke than anything else. They rarely make it to the highest undefeated title because at some point it's more important to me to win an encounter than obtain a title. Whoops, forgot to run away! Darn, one more alt without the title. Oh well.

I wouldn't attach too much significance to the titles. Many of us make jokes about them simply showing that a player is someone who runs away at the first sign of real risk. SoAndSo the ChickenSh*t. Seriously, who wants to group with someone when you know they'll run away at the risk of losing that title?

For what it's worth, I recently took a Lore-master to Undying on Landroval. I wouldn't have been able to do it if I hadn't had a hunter partner from levels 6 onward.

Find someone to pair up with that is willing to level at your pace (she's new to the game and is thrilled to have someone that's willing to teach her, and waits for me to log on), and getting these titles will be easy. Clear out your quests, even if they're light blue, they'll give decent exp.

I had a hunter get to 17 without dying, and that wasn't intentionally (i.e. I was just playing normally - just never died).

Pairing up with a friend is a good way. Also avoiding areas with high spawn rates or many mobs (e.g. the barrow downs or the goblin area in the southern lone lands).

Doing as many quests as you can at a level around yours is fine - you don't need to focus on quests that are 2-3 levels below you for most characters.

The most important thing is avoiding combat with multiple enemies- focus on one at a time. Also (of course) avoid combat with reds or elites... Yellows and even oranges are still relativley easy to defeat one-on-one. Another good tip is to use multiple characters to maintain your "rested" experience bonus (flipping between them when your rested xp expires).

If you try hard at it, it is very easy to achive this title with almost any character.
