-100k hp
-regenerates 20k per turn
-can damage your entire party for 10k damage at will (max hp is 9999)
-can annihilate your party at will with an all targeted instant death spell
-is at the bottom of a 25 floor dungeon with no way to fast travel there
-can be damaged only by defense ignoring spells

Pain in my ***. Whoever designed the Lost Odyssey DLC was a sadistic *******. I'm at level 99 with every skill in the damn game and die

Chances are there's a trick too it, such as using something at a certain time or on the FF games how you would use Death-Immune items to stop from getting AoE insta-deathed. Nothing is -that- ridiculous.

I think alot of bosses in that game were just too damn hard. Its really ashamed because I everything between the bosses was great. I thought it had an excellent story, decent combat system and it was a all around fun game... until the bosses. First Dragon Boss gave me hell till I spend hours to level up. I never got past the 2 bugs (2nd boss I think) and I finally said hell with it and ebayed it off. I know I read alot of reviews complaining about the boss fights being too difficult.

Nope

Annihilation can be spell countered, but it activates randomly. The ultimate hit can be survived by using persistence (survive with 1 hp) but that only works once before you die. There is no auto life spell, and there isn't any instant death immunity.

The way to kill it is to do more damage than it can regenerate. That's it.

So basically they designed it like the Ne'slug from the FFX battle arena.

I guess so, I could ask my mother how hard that fight was (I never did it)

The point is that they stuck the damn thing at the bottom of a 25 floor unskippable dungeon that you have to descend every time. I wouldn't mind a super hard boss that I could just teleport to, but when it takes 30 minutes to reach in the first place, I feel like I'm playing ffxi again.

Hmm, sounds like the same guy that designed Absolute Virtue worked on Lost Odyssey.

It does parallel AV in a lot of ways. Its both stupidly hard as well as only appears at the end of a long road of pain and tedium. One without the other would be fine, but both is too much.
