Wii game recommendations (was forum=28)Follow

I was given a Wii this christmas and its lovely but I've outgrown the games that came with it and was looking for recommendations.

I was told that Mariokart is fun and you can play with other people on-line with WIFI. I was hoping that people here could let me know which other games are fun, accessible and fun to play with with another or on-line with many others!

Edit - bleh, could an admin move this to the correct forum.

I recommend FORUM=22 Smiley: mad

Also, Mario Galaxy. Which isn't multiplayer, but it's still a really good Wii title.

There are no good games on the Wii. Send yours to me. I'll rip it apart and use the parts for science.

I'd say get Endless Ocean if you like a semi-realistic type of game with all kinds of sea creatures and ocean environments.

As the resident wii apologist, here is every game that I own, with a rating. All are worth buying.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
- Fantastic strategy rpg, but it is ******* HARD. 7/10
Metroid Prime 3 - The Fusion of the prime series, good fps/adventure game, excellent control 8.5/10
No More Heroes - A very quirky and unique action game. Not for everyone, but I liked it 6.5/10
Okami - Think zelda + japanese mythology, my favorite game on the wii 10/10
Resident Evil 4 - The definitive version of re4, great game with better controls than ever 7.5/10
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - A good rail shooter that tells the story of the umbrella corp without forcing you to play through every resident evil 6/10
Brawl - Needs no introduction 7/10
Tales of Symphonia 2 - The first true rpg on the wii. Good game, with a pokemon aspect (you capture monsters to use in your party) 7/10
Zelda: Twilight Princess - My favorite zelda ever made 9/10
Trauma Center: Second Opinion - A totally unique game by atlus in which you perform surgeries. I love it, not for everyone, very hard at times 8/10
Trauma Center: New Blood - Same game, different setting, less likable characters, better operations 6.5/10

I've also heard good things about Zack and Wiki. Battalion Wars 2 is decent but I'm not sure if I can recommend it to someone who doesn't really like advance wars. Mario kart is fun and very typical of mario kart. That's all I can think of basically.

Does that help you?

Get okami first.

It's probably in my top 5 of all time. Amazing characters, fantastic soundtrack and a good story. You play as Amaterasu (goddess, mother of all in ancient Shinto religion) in her wolf avatar. It's an ARPG a lot like zelda, with a loooot of quirks.

It's kinda multiplayer. It lets a non gamer participate with a gamer to collect stars and shoot stuff and help mario jump.

Nights into Dreams is kinda neat and can be bought cheap used. Otherwise pretty much the titles listed above is about it.

If you want to beat your head against the wall and cry yourself to sleep you might download Mega Man 9 for $10. Final Fantasy The Kings Town (or whatever its called) Is pretty neat for $15 on the digital downloads as well.

Ashame there is no demo versions of the digital downloads like the 360 and PS3 offer. Very few games on there I am willing to spend money on without at least getting to play a demo first.

Zack and Wiki is a good game, as is Boom Blox. Blast works beat little big planet to market about the whole user created content thing, as a side scrolling shooter.

I would add Mario Kart to this list. Good for single player or multiplayer, and is fun although it seems better for those not-as-competitive types since the game has lots of outcome-changing items. I would also add Mario Party 8 as a fun group game, but it has no single player value whatsoever.

You know what's funny...

When the PS3 first came out, everyone ragged on Sony about how hard they were to get. Example

Yet, Xbox360 and PS3s have a huge stock available. Where as the Wii is still hard to come by, a few showing up every couple months in local stores and online. And it's not because everyone is buying up more Wii, because just a local sampling shows that very few people actually own Wiis compared to a PS3 or 360.

I'm interested what your local sampling is, cause I thought the Wii is still the highest selling console. Of course, I have no actual figures to back that up either.

Western Michigan, middle class, males ages 18 to 35.

And at least I can go to Wal-mart and buy a PS3 or 360 off the shelf. They had about two Wii's per store that showed up a month before christmas.

Ah yes, that demographic would certainly favor the 360/PS3 over the Wii. I'm not sure why Wiis are still so hard to find, but that isn't keeping people from buying them I guess Smiley: tongue.

If nintendo releases starfox for the wii without gimicky controls (meaning, USE THE ******* NUNCHUCK for control) and the laser for aiming, within a year from now, I still have hope for them. If they do not release another of nintendo's great IPs then I'm just done with them.

They aren't marketing towards me anymore. I don't want fitness or weak sports or motion controlled sonics or tomagachi party; I want starfox and donkey kong and fire emblem and more tales games or even *gasp* a solid turn based rpg.

It feels like I'm about to have to bury a pet or something, but he was the one who ran outside into the road and got himself killed. ******* nintendo.
