No they don't, and I think you find it quite impossible to prove otherwise, but you are welcomed to try.

Once you've played through Zelda, you've played it, it's over. Brawl is one of the single most overrated games there is. I don't feel like going into details right now since we've already had that discussion, but that's how I see the game. Honestly, if those are your only two reasons for not picking up different console, you really must not have put much thought into the purchase.

And? It's the same story for just about every single player game, even the ones that try to pawn off new game+ content as replayability.

Sure it's overrated, though certainly not the most overrated game. It's still an incredibly fun fighting game.

Did you not read my post? "I still believe I've made the best console choice." The Wii has been out 2.5 years now, PS3, around the same age, and 360 even longer. All the games that have been released up until now haven't changed my mind. All the games that have been announced for all three consoles haven't changed my mind. Your only hope to win this argument is to reveal to me some super fantastic game I've never heard of, and I doubt you'll be doing that.

You're trying to convince me that I'm wrong about what I like. Do you see how incredibly weak your position is?

Yes they do.

Considering it's based on his opinion, I think he's able to say that they don't.

Even though he's wrong! Metal Gear Online + MGS4 > Everything the Wii has to offer! (And SSB is not overrated as it never gets old, evar!)

Well, I still think that you should play ninja gaiden black and 2, since you like fighting games a lot. Speaking of fighting games, there are at least a few good ones on those consoles. Can't get SF4 or even something like dead or alive on the wii.

I also thought that you liked rpgs, but I might be confusing you with someone else. If you do, then the 360 basically wins incontrovertibly.

Ninja Gaiden is a beat em up, not a fighter. I do like fighters, but my enjoyment is entirely dependent on being able to play against human competitors. Smash works well because it is a very popular fighting game that my friends are willing to play often.

I do like RPGs, or at least I did. I've stated I have a lot of problems with where the genre has gone and not gone. You made some recommendations to me before, but I have forgotten them.

I like the framework of the RPG genre, but most games have incredibly depthless combat systems with incredibly cliched stories. I want to be forced to think when I play an RPG.

Combine that with the economy, and Sony isn't doing as hot as one would like. I love the PS3. If I ever get rid of my roommates, I'll be buying one of my own.

Me too. If i move to Philly, I'm buying a PS3. Any suggestions of games you like?

Little Big Planet is a must. Resistance: Fall of Man is awesome if you're into FPS(I'm not a fan of em on consoles, but it was still pretty fun). The Darkness is quite enjoyable as well. Metal Gear Solid 4 is also a must if you've ever played the previous games. There are a few others, but I just woke up and can't remember em.

That's true, but it's a beat-em-up with the controls of a fighter. I don't like action games really at all (you can tell from my action games thread) but it's worth playing. It's more like crafting some work of art than playing a game if you can get through even a few levels on head ninja and watch a replay or something.

I normally consider a good storyline in an rpg a bonus these days; what I focus on more now is the character development and how much I can empathize with the situations of the various individuals in the game. Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia fall into this characterization; you still pretty much save the world in both (though to Vesperia's credit there isn't really any evil villain in the game; it's all chaos versus law) but I played them both multiple times to see the characters again, because they had that certain quality of feeling like real people.

There are some I just like for the gameplay. Last Remnant for example has gotten pretty bad reviews, but I personally love the tactical combat system.

Really depends on what you want from a game. I liked mass effect for example; you didn't seem to. That says to me that you shouldn't play wrpgs, however...

I've been playing neverwinter nights recently. I torrented diamond and actually liked it so much that I bought it legitimately afterward. It's a fantastic single player application of dnd 3rd ed. and I'm sure it would be even better with friends.

I've been thinking about it, and a lack of early releases has to be the problem, IMO. It's the games that drive what you buy in the long run.

I just bought a DS(a system I think is ridiculously silly and would have bought a PSP over) because it's the only one with a couple games I want. I almost bought an XBox to be able to play Mass Effect, then I found out it was also on PC.

Playstation is beginning to catch up on great games, but not having many of them on release really hurt it, methinks. Had Little Big Planet and MGS4 been out at release time, I think the market share would be a very different situation right now.
