What is the status on the elder jedi robes?

The guides and info I can find are way outdated.

I've read references to the jedi pilgrimage quest but no info on how to start it.

Has a new quest been activated?

Not obtainable unless you played prior to Nov 2005.

There is a Collection Line that gives Master Jedi Cloaks and they have the same armor resists as the Elder robe, 6500 armor.
