Decided to play with my old Playstation 1. I sold off my PS3 and Ps2 a long time ago but I still have a multi system component video hook up. It claims to work with the PS1 however I can't get any sound or picture when I try to hook the PS1 up to component. IT looks absurdly god awful with RCA plugs.
Is this as good as it gets on a PS1 or could my cable just be defective?

Most likely it's your cable; you shouldn't have problems with picture/sound even if it's a PS1.
