I have a quick but odd question: I am running LOTRO with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a new computer I just bought. I have been using Windows XP for years now, and this is my first real experience trying to navigate and use Vista. I installed LOTRO as I normally would, and played it off the autorun.exe menu on the DVD to patch it.
After installing it, there was no icon on the desktop, and nothing was added to the Programs list. However, I can go in anytime and use the autorun menu on the DVD to start the game. It seems that I have to do this everytime I want to play. I looked all through the Turbine folder in the Programs folder, and could not find any icon that I could create a shortcut from to use on my desktop.
I mean, using the DVD works, but it would be much more convenient to not have to use it if I could, since I know MMORPGs never require the DVD to be in the drive, and it didn't need it on XP either. Am I missing something? I re-installed and completely repatched once, so I know that it is not an issue of just reinstalling. The game works great as it is, minus the icon. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
