So who all has this game? I picked it up a couple of days ago and I am a little ways in. So far I am liking it pretty well. The controls could be alot better but I guess that's just the Resident Evil trademark. In all honesty if the controls were really good the game would prob be too easy.

One thing that bugs me though is the partner system. The women is going through my ammo like popcorn. By the end of the first mission I had 6 rounds left and she had none. Usually if I just have 1 bad guy after me I shoot them in the leg and then knife them down. That is how I got through most of Resident Evil 4. Problem is I can't really do that on here because by the time I pull my knife out she has wasted 4 or 5 bullets for nothing. I guess part of it is just luck but I only had 1 bad guy drop ammo in the first area.

Still great game and amazing detail. Not only are the graphics great but the attention to detail is amazing.

is it the strafing with left/right thats ******** you up? cause you can change it to turn left/right by switching to control type b i think.

as for the parter, i went through my first time co-op, which is just awesome, so i had infinite ammo weapons for my bot when i used her, have you tried maybe just restricting her ammo by taking it all yourself? then maybe give her a sniper rifle so maybe her shots will count more.

it is kind of funny, when she has my infinite ammo SMG, she only shoots accurate single shots off.

I just don't like the camera angle that well. I mean half the screen is just his back making it kinda hard to see. Also seems like it takes a long time to turn around.

I have been pretty much giving her very little ammo cause she uses it all up. Far as Co-op goes I don't have xbox live and my friends Xbox is tore up (red ring) so kinda puts that out of the question for now.

Yeah, third person view is kinda awkward like that. There was a way to do a quick 180 in RE4, I would assume you can do the same in RE5.

It was like that since the original B-Movie Parody Resident Evil on PS1.

I played the demo awhile back. I was not impressed. Slow clunky controls, annoying partner, and that godawful third person view that manages to block two thirds of my screen did not make for very fun gameplay. Not to mention having to constantly micromanage the inventory.

well the offline co-op is great too, if you have any freinds that actually live near you, also as for turning around all you have to do is press back+A to quickturn.

and for anyone complaining about the camera angle, try playing it with the minigun.

Finished the game a couple of days ago. Only thing I really don't like is the game seems alot shorter then the previous ones.

I remember Capcom said they made RE5 shorter because players complained about the length of RE4, which was supposed to have the longest playtime of all current games in the series.

It did for sure, the old ones were pretty short, except maybe CV, i beat ClaireA/LeonB in a total of around 6 1/2 - 7 1/2 hours.

Why would people complain about it being longer? Do they not like getting more playtime out of a great game? Shoot I enjoyed every minute of Resident Evil 4.

Ya I don't get it either, but people are stupid, so I don't question it.

I played Biohazzard 1, 1 Remake, 2, Nemesis, Code Veronica, Zero. Never played Biohazzard 4 but I thought Biohazzard 5 was really fun, so I assume I'd enjoy 4 just the same.

A few things to mention:

(SPOILERS, maybe)

Good:
1. Offline/Online 2 players mode.
2. Bluetooth enabled chatting during online play.
3. High replay value. Bonus points for purchasing infinite ammo etc.
4. You can actually see how Herb/Aid Spray works.
5. After staggering the enemy, you can perform single physical attacks or 2 player combos. Saves a lot of your ammunition.
6. Mercenaries Mode is fun.
7. Type-A controls is the same as Biohazzard 4 so I hear.

Bad:
1. Third person camera angle. You will not be able to see what's behind, left and right of you unless you turn to that direction.
2. When you play 2 players mode offline, your 50" TV gets split up into two very tiny screens that two players have to share.
3. You can't run and shoot at the same time.
4. Does not have the old Biohazzard gloomy/dark/death/alone feeling.
5. Music is not that great, in my own opinion, compared to Biohazzard 2.
6. Inventory management. You can't expand your inventory with add-ons.
7. Safari and Clubbin' costumes are extremely retarded looking.

That's as much as I can think of.

Resident Evil 4 played VERY similar to Resident Evil 5. I really liked it better to be honest. For the time it had pretty amazing graphics (wonderful attention to detail). You had the ability to expand your inventory and it was prob twice as long as Resident Evil 5. Challenge wise it was more difficult. It wasn't really as scary as the orginals but you did get scaared when you had a whole mob of enemies coming at you in RE4. It also had a few puzzles similar to the ones in previous Resident Evil games. If you liked RE5 you owe it to yourself to play 4. In fact I think gamestop has RE4 on sale for $10 for the PS2 right now. Its also on Gamecube and for Wii apparently.

Also something disappointing is Resident Evil 5 never did explain the ending to Resident Evil 4 (ok spoiler alert about RE4 past this point).

At the end of Resident Evil 4 Ada Wong ran off with the viris/parasite. There was never any mention of her in Resident Evil 5.

AFAIK you could only expans your inventory in 2, and with only one character, and maybe CV I cant remember, and the third person camera isnt to bad, since in most RE games youd always be stuck with a camera angle at some point that made it hard/impossible to see enemies, plus the quick turn is pretty useful.

EDIT: thinking about teh music, aside from the mercenaries mode music, i dont think i would remember or even recognize it if i heard it, would probably with the early ones though.

you people think the music is bad???? holy crap that games has the most amazing music i've ever heared especcially the An emergency(uroboros) and the one where u gotta take the thing off jills chest and don't get me started on wesker's music..... ****** brilliant also the axe/chainsaw music is very good the camaras are the same as RE4 who gives a crap lol makes it harder and you have to keep it moving cuz if you stop you might get attacked from the back which gives you that feeling ONLY thing bad about RE5 is that it doesnt have any scary feeling to it just nothing except uber cool looking monsters and such but when i played that game first playthrough on veteran i did't get a scary feeling not once but maybe that was cause i played the whole game with my brother/cousin hmm idk but thats bout the only thing i can say bad about it the music and graphics..... brilliant ahh everytime i think about the music i have to play it who ever composed that music is a freakin genius i analyze music deeply most people don't do this so they dont understand how great the music really is

Music 10/10 gameplay 7/10(if you played RE4 and then play this its exactly the same except for the new moves they added which i love) replay value is extremely high on this game im atm playing it on professional mode without useing infinite ammo because i think that defeats the purpose of playing it on professional mode im on chap 6-1 i believe and am stuck on excella if u get hit once by those slugs it drains all ur health then if u get hit again u cant be saved professional mode is very hard i like it

Me and my friend just played the demo and liked it enough to buy it. We're found a new version for only 50 with shipping, 10 dollars off from best buy, so we're just waiting for it to arrive now.

The only thinks I didn't really like was how you can't move while aiming, how it takes forever to ready your knife and swing, and how you can't really see more than a 110ish degree conal view. The view problem was kind of solved by the fact that I was playing with my friend in co-op mode though, he was always watching my back and I was always watching his.

It's funny because it was a gamecube time exclusive...

Wii version is definitive. It is the best, and no argument possible can deny this fact. Aiming is precise and extremely fast, and it contains all of the extra sh*t that got on the ps2, as well as the better graphics of the gamecube.

Kind of sad that people prefer graphics to gameplay to the extent that no one bothered with a wii version (because it greatly mitigates those problems).

For me.. it's more of the fact that my friend owns a PS3 and his younger brother "owns" their Wii. As such their Wii is half broken. Add in the fact that I plan to be getting a PS3 after this semester ends for MGS4/MGO and FFXIII when it comes out we won't ever be playing the Wii version... sooo yeah.

That's a pity.

Aiming with a wii remote is better than a mouse (imo) for shooters.

Even if the mouse were better, the remote is not far behind. It's leaps and bounds better than sticks.

In my experience I'm better with a remote than a mouse. Maybe its just me.

Reason most people didn't experience RE4 on the Wii is because we all ready played it to death on PS2/Gamecube.

Far as the Wii controller goes I doubt i would like it any better for RE4. I know it hurt my wrist to try and play Metroid PRime 3 to the point I never did play through it. Not a big fan of having to hold the controller out the whole time.

And yea I would rather have the graphics of the Xbox360 or PS3 then the Wii controller. Why couldn't Nintendo have had....you know..... both? They screwed themselves out of alot of nice multi-console games making the Wii a Gamecube with a fancy controller.

Controller and graphics aside though prob the biggest reason RE5 went to 360/PS3 was target audience. If they had put it on the Wii it would have been more difficult to put it on 360/ps3. Why put it on 1 system that is apparently aimed at kids and casuals when it could go on 2 which is for more mature players?

You don't have to hold it out at all... I played with with the remote near my thigh

Good job whoring up the place. I hope the extra polygons tipped well.

Why can't myamoto get the stick out of his *** and design some good games for the wii? I'm no will apologist, not anymore, but the control system for shooters of any kind is flawless. I honestly amd not sure what you are doing wrong for you to have to hold the control at arms length.
