Ranger or Bard for soloing?Follow

#1 Mar 29 2009 at 5:58 AM Rating: Decent
Ok im gonna return to EQOA soon and was wondering what class i should pick. Before left i had a 55 war, 53 rouge and a 30 sk...so i dont wnna make those classes again. I heard there arent as many ppl playing now, and thought it would be a good idea to make a class that can get groups and solo if needed. I was thinking Ranger because they do good dmg, and with bow path i wouldnt have to get so close to mobs, and i heard they get a tick heal(?), so thats even better. Then i heard people say bards are pretty good with their Power and Healing spells and they can also do decent damage. I like both but im leaning more towards Ranger because of the bow path.
So which do u think is better for soloing: Ranger or Bard?

Every class can solo, of the two Bard is probably a better choice.

you've probably already made this character and moved on from playing that game at this point, lol, but I wanna take a stab at part of your question. for rangers and soloing, I would have to reccomend one of these two options. max out your agi, dex, and put some into sta, get your cms for blade half recasts, get your CM targetable heal, and beef up your INT a bit for proc.

for use of Bow, your going to want lots of Dex, some Agi (in case you get hit, not for mana...duh) and beef up your wisdom for bow dmg. get your half recast bow abilities and those oh so valuable ranger targetable heals (for reference, i remember mine did about 250 per tick at lvl 60 with my stats, that was more than enough to be a healer and awesome DD as a hunter in most groups, especially those damn trees, lol!).

I never got a bard past lvl 7, but I played Calvin for probably 4 and a half years...my first character and favorite by far. I'm a bit rusty on my game knowledge though...
