2) It makes me almost gleeful to think that this is online, so I won't have to buy it, or a ps3

3) 13 isn't even out yet. What the **** are they talking about 14 for?

In all honesty, I was hoping the new MMO SE were working on was going to be very different from FFXI - but that looks pretty similar, just with nicer graphics . I guess I can't judge it until we get some storyline ideas nearer the time, but so far it doesn't excite me too much .

14 is going to be the new Online.

This belongs in =10. Or actually Pikko locked, because there's already a thread here.

It could be an online game played exclusively through the PS3. It would be dumb, but it's Sony.

I really like the Final Fantasy aesthetics and class setups. In FFXI the bard wasn't some lame jack of all trades class; the bard was a master a buffs. Dragoons wreak of cool and stand as an iconic FF symbol. Unfortunately FFXI is a rather poorly designed MMO. It has its charm, but overall it is a very flawed game.

I doubt SE has learned their lesson, but it would be difficult for them not to improve the idea (unless they've decided to once again try a totally new concept). I would like for this to be a good game.

What I meant was, I loved ff11, but there's no way I would want to go through it again, especially since my main class was blackmage. Things got stale with no updates.

Not to mention the fact that I can play other games when I'm not playing an mmo. For example, I finally beat Ikaruga today. Were I playing an mmo I doubt I could play half of the games I can without.

I doubt my graphics card could handle 14 anyway, and I can't really upgrade it without a new motherboard because I only have an agp slot

It'll be about as exclusive as FF13 is, I guarantee it.

It's not completely PS3 exclusive, that's just its only console currently. It's already been confirmed it'll be on the PC too.

If a game being on a system makes it a reason for you not to buy it, you need serious mental help.

I'll probably pick this up for the PS3, I doubt I'll play it for very long if it feels exactly like 11.

meh.

unless 14 is way better then 11. . . what is the point?

did SE say they are dropping FFXI, and everyone has to goto 14?

I enjoyed my time in FFXI, but after playing WoW, Blizzard is doing it "right" while SE is not.

Well, I suppose it's the same with EQI and II. Although perhaps not perfect at the start, EQII has grown quite a lot, almost as good as EQI.

EQII in the end is a lot like WoW qua playstyle, perhaps SE will take a lesson or two from it and go that way too.

Time will tell.
