Sorry if this has been posted already, I didn't see anything about it on =22.
So, after their release of the Wii Vitality Sensor (I kid you not), Nintendo has earned a spark of redemption.
All though, that's like saying a steaming pile of crap just got one less fly on it. At the end of the day, it's still a pile of crap.
But before you hit that little red arrow, my Nintendo hate is not the point. It's a rant for another thread. The point is that little spark of redemption I talked about a second ago.
A spark called: Metroid.
Out of the semi-awesomeness that is the recreated E3 comes the announcement of "Metroid: Other M".
Yup, another Metroid game. The inner fanboy is screaming WOOT!, while another part of me is concerned. You see, the people behind this aren't Retro Studios, the people that handles the Prime series. The people behind Other M are Team Ninja, the people behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. The part of me that is concerned is that way because I've never played the Ninja Gaiden games. While I've heard they are excellent, and among some of the most challenging games out there (at least the early ones), I'm afraid how this variable will affect the game. Hopefully it will be for the better, but whenever another company takes over one of my favorite franchises, I tend to get a bit worried. I'm sure they'll do an excellent job, however, and I'm just being paranoid.
The link above has the announcement trailer. The cutscene looks amazing, as does the gameplay (while some of the video is a bit untextured and less detailed, that's to be expected of something in early development). What's different, though, is that it seems to be 3D and 3rd person, something that I can't think of being in a Metroid game to date (correct me if I'm wrong on that one.)
It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
