Im new I justed started playing last night and I wanted to share something small but something that really influenced me. So I downloaded the trial and head on into game. I go through and make a character a human champion and I start in Altec is it? Im not stranger to Lotr so I immediatly look at the map and am pleased to see it looks exactly like the ones from the book and I recoginize all the major landmarks.

Well after getting done with the intro instance I get out and continue along the intro quest lines. As I leave the town I immediatly notice how good the world looked. After slaughtering boars and wolves I found myself in a field of white flowers, so i stop and admire the scenery it really is breath taking. And then I notice it. The flowers are actually swaying in the wind! My jaw dropped, I called my gf over, I fell in love. Small little details like that are what make me fall in love with a game. Right there I decided I was buying the retail version when my trial ends and I am going to play this game.

Im also impressed with how well it runs on my system My rig isnt top of the line but its no slouch, I can play this game on very high settings easily. Something I couldnt do with AoC whos graphics were similair.

Anyways thought Id share that with yall

Glad you’re here.

Graphics-wise, LOTRO is a very pretty game.

As I upgraded video cards, I tried the bigger and better settings. I can actually see into the next zone if there is no obstruction (eg I’m on a hilltop), or at least, the end of the zone. As you said, this kind of detail is fun to discover and makes the game more enjoyable. The best rain effect I can recall is from FFXI but LOTRO is not far behind. The best water effect or water scenery is definitely LOTRO.

You will find more hidden valleys and areas that will take your breath away.
