I knew about the Twilight Princess sequel, Other M, Galaxy 2, and the MP trilogy.

I didn't know about No More Heroes 2, the New Resident Evil Chronicles, the new 2D Mario Bros. Sin and Punishment 2, a new Tales game (hopefully a main story this time with less pokemon) and Arc Rise Fantasia

That's a potential ARPG, two actions games, two platformers, the trilogy of adventure games, two shooters, and two jrpgs, all of which are on solid IPs except for arc rise. If even half of them are worth buying I think I'll be extremely happy.

They are also releasing a Phantom Brave game for the Wii (Disgaea game).

http://www.amazon.com/Phantom-Brave-Meet-Again-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B001TKK3NE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1245499049&sr=8-2

While I don't know if the Phantom Brave games are actually part of the Disgaea series, they have the same characters and the same strategy RPG style.

Same universe, different zip code.

Hmm, you mean publishers actually create games for the Wii that aren't just tech demos and kiddy crap disguised as games?

Zelda might be enough reason for me to purchase another wii someday. Mario Galaxy 2 could be good also.

Sure the Wii has been aching for a real game for a year now, but it's not like the other consoles aren't in the same position.

What you talking about, Allegory? The PS3 has quite a few rather awesometacular games.

It has games you can make a case for. Compared to the offering of the PS2, the PS3 titles really fall into the shadow. Pretty much what happened going to the Gamecube from the N64.

The gamecube ended up with a pretty good library. In terms of the time release it may have been what the ps3 is now but at least at the end of its life it probably had about 25 good games.

There's still only about... four on the ps3 that I'd buy.

They did a lot at its release; I had a good ten games within the first year. After approximately one year they stopped, however, even Nintendo stopped making stuff for non-casual "gamers." I had since written off buying anything else for it but Nintendo might actually surprise me. It's no starfox or rogue squadron, but it is team ninja and samus.

Didn't know that, but if you still have to channel spirits into items to summon characters that vanish after five goddamn turns I think I'll have to pass.

No, it has games you don't need to make a case for. Games of such sheer awesomeness, I need only name them.

It is not, as you put it, "aching for a real game".

Really?

MGS4 is extremely debated, and that's honestly the closest one I could think of to a self-evidently awesome game. I guess Disgaea 3, if it's anything like the other ones, would be awesome, but that's a niche game. Little Big Planet? I suppose; it's a new IP though and I don't feel like risking 400 dollars on a good platformer.

In five years the library might get large enough to be the dominant force in every genre, much as the ps2 was, but as of now it's just not broad, nor deep enough.

Here are the games I think of when I think of the PS3: MGS4, Assassin's Creed, GTA4, Little Big Planet, Prince of Persia, and Rock Band. These are all ok games, but nothing really stands out.

If I was going to buy a console and I would have to buy 10-15 games as well, I would probably get a PS3 or a 360. But if I was going to buy a console and get 1-2 games I would probably end up with a Wii again.

The Last Guardian, even if it is an Ico clone, is the first game for the PS3 that I've been interested in--mostly because of what the team has done in the past.

I've gotten better at melee again, mostly due to boredom with my other consoles right now Smiley: schooled

I didn't think I could really; I thought i'd hit my peak a while ago. If only I had a human to fight...

In any case, it's doubly tough to make a case for the ps3 because it and the 360 share so many games. Fallout 3 was awesome, but it's on both, etc, etc. In terms of pure exclusivity (for some weird *** reason) there are a lot of rpgs on the box, and only one that I can think of the playstation. It's unfortunate.

I heard a rumor also that konami was doing an rpg on the wii. It's completely unconfirmed and this is pure speculation on my part, but I can't think of a single rpg that konami's done except for suikoden, and if suikoden 6 comes out on the wii I'll probably cream myself.

As a tangent note, my friends and I have picked up melee again as well, though perhaps for only a short time. I think it might drive me insane. Everything I had built up as fox is gone. Both of my friends main sheik, which is incredibly irritating. I really hate everything about sheik in melee.

I just play samus against shielk; shiek can't juggle something that floats out of range. Fox falls too damn fast to escape her.

I have only been able to play against the CPU but where before level 9's were just easy, they're simply embarrassing now. It's not a good substitute for a human but it gives me opportunities to practice combos and samus' halfjump. I honestly think I might be better with her than link now; she has a fantastic wavedash that link just can't use.

Ugh, the new PoP game pisses me off so much. They ruined what was a good game so thoroughly that I am led to the conclusion that all the good features of the orginal were a sheer fluke - a theory that can be adapted to most once good games, sadly.

Also, most 360 games can be played on the PC, and much better, too. If you really prefer playing Fallout 3, KoTOR 2, oblivion or and FPS on a console there's something horribly wrong with you, quite possibly on the genetic level. Same goes for a lot of PS3 games. Consoles do racing, fighting and platform games (Braid's pretty good) OK and that's it. I mean, really, you just have to accept that a controller is **** at aiming or, indeed, any great degree of control. I guess what I'm trying to say is that consoles suck and the PC rules!!

I really should stop satirising my own opinions.

But yeah, Little Big Planet is the only good game I can think of exclusive to the PS3.

Computers have almost zero jrpgs.

They're also really @#%^ing expensive.

Debatable? How so? I bought my ps3 just so I could play mgs4, that's how awesome it is. Smiley: drool2

There are several games of pure awesomeness.

Truth be told, had Allegory said, "it doesn't have enough games of awesomeness yet." well, then I really couldn't have argued with him. But the way it came across was that "it doesn't have any truly awesome games yet", which I feel is dead wrong. Between myself and my roommates, we have several sitting on the coffee table that I'd classify as truly awesome.

The way I see it, and knowing this view is tainted by my preferences. There is no one game on the PS3 that would cause me to buy the system. There are lots of great games I would buy if I already had the PS3.

I didn't buy a Wii to buy the Wii. I don't give a crap about the console. I bought Zelda, Mario Galaxy, and Brawl. In order to play those games I had to buy a Wii as well. That's the only reason I have a Wii.
