I just finished it, and I must say Mass Effect is the best game I've played in years.

Awesome story line, plot, great adventure with terrific twists.

A few times I even found myself saying "Wow, the character they used for Shepard is awesome!" only to remember that I designed him. They plugged you in so well, and the facial expressions seem better than any other game, even if they do break and glitch. I had one time where my eye lids closed, but my eyes still showed through.

It's a bit disappointing though, I get the feeling that even though the decisions do affect people and the story (You can kill or save some characters, you know?) it will overall end up the same.

I was an Infiltrator, by the time I finished I had Pistols and Snipers maxed out, along with maxed Spectre Training and Infiltrator Training, and mixed other ones. Some Decryption, some Electronics, and others.

I mainly used Garrus and Wrex as soon as I acquired them I switched them out, and had a grudge against Kaidan. He died a lot when I first started, so I switched him soon as I could. The only time I changed this was Noveria, Garrus for Liara because of his dumbass suggestion. I didn't see how Liara helped at all with that situation, my conversation with Benezia seemed normal, nothing special/interesting happened with having Liara there.

If someone can tell me how to use those black box spoiler thingies, that'd be awesome, then I can actually mention something interesting.

The dialog changes a little bit when you have her with you.

When Mass Effect II comes out, you'll have the option to load from your Mass Effect 1 save. Certain story elements are supposed to cross over, such as who has survived, the choices you made at the end(saving the council, who you put as the representative on the council, etc).

Liara is by far the strongest biotic you have available and makes a very strong addition to any team that doesn't have Shepard as a Biotic, though her lack of weapon skills makes her best suited to pair with a Soldier Shepard. When I went through as an Infiltrator, I found my strongest team was Shepard/Ashley/Wrex.

Does that mean that you didn't do the special side mission to visit the moon and disable the training VI at level 20? If you do that one, you get to further specialize as either a commando or something else.

Also, what level you end up at(gives me an idea of how many side missions you did) and did you go Paragon or Renegade?

Also, I should note that in about 5 hours, my computer access becomes spotty at best for about a week so if I don't respond after this, please understand it's because I'm out of town away from the interwebs.

I'm not gonna quote a bunch of stuff because that would be annoying. In order for Pold:

- Yea, but dialogue is just dialogue. I don't think Benezia would talk about her daughter if Liara wasn't there.

- Sweet, though I wont be able to play ME2 right away, it'll probably be later.

- Yes Liara has incredible Biotics, when I got like all 46 of her talent points I put them into destructive things. Warp, Throw, that one that makes a black hole-ish thing, etc. I still liked having Garrus/Wrex though, Garrus with good shields is alright. Oh, and I dumped no points whatsoever into Shotsguns for Wrex, him and Garrus both used assault rifles. xD It was just easier.

- No, I didn't go to the moon but a friend of my brothers did tell me about it, and I'll go there some time probably. Already finished the story line though.

- Paragon, at least 75%, I got the achievement in the end. I also kept Charm maxed out through pretty much the whole game as it opened up (Missed a few when I dinged though, missed a few conversations options in side quests and things) I also used all 3 Charm options on Saren at the end. Makes me wonder though, if having such high Charm doesn't make me fight him at all, do you if you pick the normal options, neither Intimidate or Charm?

- I ended up at, I think 29.

- I also got Wrex to back down, and solved an impossible situation achievement with Charm.

I got offtrack and ranted, I always do.

I'm off to bed Poldy, have a nice trip.

Adept Shepard with Liara and Garrus was always my favorite combination. Two full on biotics would just clear rooms faster than god, and the fact that she and garrus have electronics means they won't ever be low on shields.

Is this when he was on his floatey disc? Or the very end, when Sovereign takes over his body?

For me the hardest fight was Benezia, whilst Sovereign-controlled Saren got one shotted. Benezia took me 4 tries, just because first time I didn't get it and got mauled by Benezia's godly biotic attacks while trying to actually kill her. Second time, again mauled by biotics. Third time, learned to sprint the hell out of there whenever she used any biotic, but glitched it. Someone threw an NPC down below and we couldn't kill it to continue on. Fourth time got it.

Yeah,I'm talking about the fight at the very end. Biotics completely debilitate hi.

Benezia was a hard fight, which was unfortunate because, as a biotic, all I could do was plink her to death with the pistol. I'm not positive, but I think the first phase of the fight will end once she summons four teams though, so I would just singularity the four corners of the room and kill everything that way, then bum rush her when it was time to actually kill. Three heavily armed dudes running full tilt at a biotic, even benezia, will take them down easily.

I too had difficulty with Benezia, until I decided to stop being cute. I simply charged her with a shotgun while I had Wrex and Liara hitting her with biotics. Leave Benezia alone until you eliminate her multiple waves, infact it's the only real way to do it because each wave leaves her weaker than the last.

Since you already necrod this, I see no reason to let it die. I have about 20 hours into ME2 already and it is a vastly larger game. I beat ME1 in a little over 30 hours first playthrough, and I did *most* of the sidequests. Currently in ME2 I'm working the loyalty missions. ME2 is a good game, but I'm a little unhappy about making this game more FPS-ish. I'm a much bigger fan of RPGs.
