I can't imagine there are 4 to 5 rows of buffs setup under the toons action bar. Maybe 2 actual rows. But you are right, there are lots and lots of "buffs" to get if you are going to be competitive. First off you should get buffed by the Entertainers on your server. Typically found in the Mos Eisley cantina, but sometimes other places too. They can buff your armor protection, critical hit chance, glancing blow, health, luck, etc. Make sure you tip them something. Its worth every credit. Secondly, look for a medic giving buffs. On the Chilastra server there is always a good Medic in the Eisley cantina along with the Entertainers. Between getting those 2 professions to buff you, you will add any stims, toolbar buffs, etc of your own. You will have collected these as loot from combat, or a few as a quest reward. Your profession and clothing/armor you are wearing can also give you some buffs. But as for 4 to 5 rows of buffs, i've never seen it. Hope it helps, and have fun!

Take a look at my Guide: Combat Preparation, it has examples of basic buff setups and details of many other buffs.

When you get up to four rows of buffs, many of the icons you see are depicting low power effects, or effects with short duration and long cooldowns.

sad, just plain sad, why does it always seem to devolve to who has the best buffs. after a few weeks of playing, i did get involved in the pvp side of things, but, even the new changes didnt really live up to expectations. i think they really need to do something about these ridiculous buff strategies. back to playing other games until the game 'improves' something again i guess :(

cloudancer, a players choice of buff package is a great way to further differentiate yourself from others of the same profession and can be tailor made to suit your own playstyle.

As I mentioned, the majority of buff icons are low power effects, don't be intimidated by them.

and yet the fights all seem to be about who has the most and best buffs - and their almost always the same buffs too, this is the problem that beset pre-nge swg, i really wonder if any lessons have been learned sometimes :(

Have you PvP'd in SWG recently? Player skill is a much bigger factor in the outcome of a fight than buffs.
