Yeah, it's pretty good.

MP3 had the best controls for an fps I've ever played (even though it wasn't exactly of the fps genre,) and they basically just put them onto the prime 1 and 2 games. They're still damn near perfect; I haven't run into any motion interaction yet (in prime 1 and 2) such as the door commands and welding and such from prime 3, but honestly I don't miss them. The laser precise aiming is more than enough to breathe new life into an already fantastic game. I suppose the difficulty might be lower on an absolute scale, but if the difficulty is reduced due to improving the controls, does it really matter; no, it does not, because difficulty due to control issues is fake difficulty, and no one should mourn it when it is expunged. In any case, you have normal and veteran, and I'm assuming an expert after you beat the game, as in prime 3, so there's always that.

The packaging is quite fleshed out. You can just play a new game from each of the games and can work on them in any order you want, switching from one to another through the menu with no obligation to finish the current game. The mp2 multiplayer is there also (if anyone actually cared about it, worry not, for it is still there for you) and it brings in the token system introduced in 3 to unlock extra crap, including the soundtracks. Now, since the mp3 game itself didn't have the rundas fight song, I'm assuming that this one also doesn't, so that sucks, but aside from music, there is concept art and little add-ons like that that you can unlock with points. You can also buy the fusion suit that was availible on the gcn prime 1 through gba link, just for completions' sake I guess.

It's also just 50 dollars, and it comes in a nice metal box.

If you're struggling to find something to justify your wii until the twilight princess sequel, try the prime trilogy. If you've played them all already, and really just can't bring yourself to play a metroid game more than once, then I don't know why you played it in the first place (Smiley: grin) but also, you could skip it. For anyone else, look into it.

Thanks for reminding me that Corruption was Wii only, you *******. Smiley: mad Would it have killed them to release a GC version as well, like they did with Twilight Princess?

Yes. TP was originally a GC game adapted for Wii. Metroid Prime 3 was only developed with Wii in mind.

I bought the game last week when I bought my PS3. Got a $10 gift card too essentially spending $40 total for it. Just got done playing a bit of it and trying to adjust to the controls as I haven't played Corruption yet and I haven't played any FPS on the console. Feels better than dual analog, but it's still very awkward compared to KB/M. But it's been a few years since I've played MP and I loved it when I played it first in 2002. There has yet to be an adventure game like it yet this generation. Bioshock isn't even close.

It's only 50 bucks? wow.

I may actually move my Wii downstairs where I would actually use it. I didn't play much of MP2, but I played 1 and 3 to completion. I should really think about picking this up.

I actually prefer the laser to a mouse. Either one is leagues ahead of sticks though, but I like how the direction of the laser is perpendicular with the screen instead of parallel.

IF you are very used to a mouse, try putting the sensitivity on max, and the screen will pan more tightly with the crosshairs.

Yeah, they didn't jack up prices or anything. Corruption is still listed as 50 on gamestops website also, so if that's correct, the other two are essentially free.

It shines in multi-player.

Maybe. Hunters was really a lot more like an fps, and the draw of metroid for me (prime or not) isn't an fps.

Course if Other M turns out to be pure action with no exploration I'll be sad, but probably play it just because of Team Ninja.

I still prefer the FPS controls games like Half Life 2, Halo 3, etc used. Holding that Wii controller out for extended periods of time is tiring and I won't even go into the clunky controls the Metroid Prime games had on the Gamecube.

Completed the first game.

The prime fight and ridley fight both felt a lot less frustrating due to inadequate response time, as they often did on the gcn. It's easier to actually aim for the mouth and weakspot, and dealing with the metroid spawns during the final part of the prime fight was just challenging and exciting instead of frustrating.

Honestly, (and my best friend vehemently disagrees, but ***** him) that this is how prime was meant to be played, and how it ought to be. I just can't get over how nice it is to be able to strafe and aim at the same time.
